Prince of Persia: Sands of Time

Just finished the game the other day. Fell in love with it. Logged on IMDb to check which other games in the franchise have seen X-BOX releases...

...and I see that they've a movie in the works with Jake Gyllenhaal. I have a feeling this will be utter fail in every degree. And they changed the love interest's name! What happened to Farah?

Eww...

Thoughts?

Something creeps me out about Mr. Gyllenhaal.

It has been in development for a while.

Michael Bay was at one point attached to the project, and there were rumors that Orlando Bloom or Zac Efron were going to get the part, so take the info as you will.

Disney is supposably putting a lot of hope for this franchise, hoping for it to be a "replacement" for POTC before POTC 4.

You just now finished that game? I can barely remember anything from it except I liked the graphics...back then. I bet if I looked at it now I would think they were ****. I know they did a sequel, but I never played it. I've been playing GTA4 for for that past week so much that I've been going around talking in Russian accent.

That video was bloomin i-larious!

I just now bought the game last week.

And Grand Theft Auto is ass. Meh. I'll take Sands of Time over that tripe any day.

Sands of Time was easy as pie. I beat it at or around two days without even much effort. I will never understand the hype of this game. Story was awesome…but if it’s no challenge then what’s the point? After all, I’m not going to video games for storyline. I want good game play.

Which it more than delivered. Easy doesn't equate a lack of quality. Was it easy? Absolutely, but it was superbly crafted. And anyway, I wasn't as impressed with the story as I was with the game mechanics; so many plotholes that I stopped trying to make sense of it and just focused my attention on the excellent platforming.

Any rate, this isn't about the game, it's about the movie.

My favorite of the newer Prince of Persia games is THE TWO THRONES. A very strong follow-up.

If you liked that game, then you should check out both ICO, and Shadow of the Colossus.

Oh, and I've known about the film for a while now. I couldn't care less about it; I've given up on all video game adaptations. There's never going to be a good one.

It's because he played a HOMOSEXUAL, isn't it?!

Yes! How dare he lure The Joker into such a tryst. The fiend!

The Sands Of A Little More Time...

http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=23022

'...The reason for the delay? To finish the thing and to get the special effects absolutely right, which is very commendable. Then again, it’s hard not to sympathise with the caution shown here by Bruckheimer and Disney, for whom the hope is that the Jake Gyllenhaal-starrer will be another Pirates Of The Caribbean-style cash cow.'

Really looking forward to this...game was great (although like Max said, the fighting was way too easy...puzzles were fun though).

I'm sure the movie will suck (like most videogame to movie adaptions), but I'll see it and probably enjoy it anyways.

Michael's YouTube video above was hilarious.

I know this is old, but I agree with you RA. I'll take Sands of Time over GTAIV any day.
