... register right away or browse the tables for a while? How did you find the Raven?
When my Indiana Jones interest grew I searched on the Internet for Indy sites. I found TheRaider.net and the rest is history.
The earliest post I remember reading was Attila the Professor's first post. That was three months before I registered.
So, my question is how long did you wait before you registered and how did you find the Raven in the first place.
I found and lost it a dozen times. I never knew any thing about forums. I as aresult got kicked off of all of them as no one told me you was not allowed to tell the truth on a forum. Then I found this one again about a month ago some how not sure how think on google search for Gladhatter . Well rest is history . While this is about the weirdest of all the forums in that is does not have all hat freaks. It is the nicest in that it has diverse people and interesting convo's . Still weird as everone is private and secerative and friendly but not are friendly . All or most are very clanish as on other forums. And like other forums most are here to talk and not listen. Big difference here for me is I can talk but I cannot teach about hats as no one here is into hats. The other forums I could teach about hats but I get kicked off as I expose the frauds in the hat business. Having been around the block I know all the real hatters and suppliers and I learn what a joke the most popular hat company really is and then I am so stupid or politicilaly incorrect that I just say it like it is and then all hate me.
Good forumn here not a great one however.

I looked on in silence for approximately one year, and then joined.
So, that would have been Feb of 2003. Then, in Feb of '04, I joined, and, really liked it.
Edit: Sorry, it was January of '04 when I became a member.
I wasn't in school much that year, and I had just about the entire day to kill. I became a TV bum and the days all just sort of... blurred together.
So I was watching Entertainment Tonight, and they had this thing about Indiana Jones--or something relating to it, and at that time I never knew much about IJ.
Curiosity struck, and I looked it up on the Internet.
I believe I looked around for two months or so. But I don't know. Nov. through June was all sort of hazy for me.
Just on a whim, I went looking for a place to buy the Indy jacket. I found the Wested site first thing. Then IndyGear.com. Then the Raider.Net... I looked around the Raven for about a week before registering. Some of the conversations at the time reminded me of BS-ing with my buddies back in college, so here I am.
Funny you should ask, "Rumples." I was looking at my profile the other day and I registered 12/12/00. I can't believe I've been visiting here over 4 YEARS!
I'm pretty sure that I found the Raven by doing a search for "Indiana Jones" using my favorite search engine, dogpile.com. I probably checked it out briefly, then registered as soon as I liked what I saw. It had always been my dream, really, to speak with other Indy fans. It was one of the major reasons why I wanted internet access so badly years ago. I mean, I wouldn't put an ad in the paper (well, I guess you could have) inviting local Indiana Jones fans to get together! The internet was the next best thing.
Four years later it's still a privilege to be here, talking Indy shop with some fine, intelligent people who have a great sense of humor.
My next dream involving the Raven is to actually be able to MEET several of you in person and give you all big hugs! I would just LOVE to do that. Hopefully someday someone here will put together a gig in NY so that we all can meet. I just don't personally have the time to put something like that together.

I regged right away when I found this gig. And oh, did I mention it was two days after this board had its grand opening?
Did you have any prior connection to theraider.net? Or did you just see the welcoming fire through one of the Raven's windows and decide to come in out of the cold?
No prior connection, the timing was more or less a happenstance. I was simply in the neighborhood and couldn't resist the alluring sounds of drunken brawling and giggling of loose women.
It's not like they just grabbed me behind the counter straight in through the door either. I was just a patron 'til early 2003, when Gilles popped the question. Why, I've still got no idea. I certainly wasn't brown-nosing anybody.
But I figured "why the hell not"... and ever since then, I've been Her loyal servant.

And you've been serving drinks, throwing out drunks and mopping up spillages ever since!
I was looking up something Indy on the internet and came across the site. I read a lot of threads and was pretty interested. A few days later I registered. I've just about been here ever since. My interests have kind of expanded since then, so I'm not on here near as often as I used to be. But I still drop in every now and again.
Same story as the above post - Just doing a general Indy search and came across TheRaider.net, and subsequently found the forums. I read a few threads, but was unable to register initially since I have a Gmail (Free) email account which was disabled - so basically I was an outsider looking in, unable to participate for ages.
Then one day I tried registering again, just on a whim, and I was accepted - and have posted on and off ever since!

I found Indyfan.com first, looking for Indy 4 news. Then I found TheRaider and liked it better, though I didn't look at the Raven till years later. I started peering in the Raven windows a couple of months before I decided to open the door and come on in when I finally got an email address.
And here I still am and a mod for about a year now. A testament to how great the Raven is. I usually have pretty short attention span to websites.
The Ravens always been one of my favorite sites. If anything a place to stave off boredom. I miss some aspects of it. I usually don't post as often because there's not many threads that capture my interest like they used to. Just "Why I hate Indy 4 this" and so on and so forth, the same old stuff. I've always been prone to check out the custom figures threads and what not.
Only reason I've been back now is due to a break up, and The Raven gives me something to do.
I've always liked Indiana Jones. I think I may have come across when the site when I googled Hugh Fleming and Indiana Jones and I found the interview on The Raider and then found my way into the Raven. I think I basically registered right away,
Wow. Well, I was 13, just got internet privileges (dial-up), and I believe 'Indiana Jones' was basically my first search. The Raider was the top result and of course that led me here. I then joined up and never looked back.

In my case, I was searching the internet for information on the bonus DVD that was exclusive to Future Shop and Best Buy pre-orders of the 2003 box set. (I bought my set the 1st day it was released but didn't know about the pre-order exclusive! AARGH!)
Found TheRaider.net and read the articles about which films influenced Indy. It was after seeing a Raven post by IndyFrench regarding the influences that made me join immediately. That was Feb. 2005, exactly 7 years ago...
