I've got to say that I'm incredibly opposed to these kinds of things, and they have a hand in ruining the hobby. It's essentially a knock off repro card and bubble from a vintage Indy figure.
The problem with these is that they contaminate the population of remaining vintage Indy toys, and home printing is so good nowadays that you probably can't tell much of a difference between a knockoff card like this one and a real vintage card in good shape.
Of course, this is also loosely related to repro weapons, which I'm only slightly less opposed to. However, I think there is a significant difference between creating a repro weapon that is essentially identical the vintage piece that will help you complete a figure, versus recarding a loose figure that can be passed off as brand new, vintage and untouched by human hands since it's manufacture date.
I added this auction to the thread simply for the conversation of it, but the fact is that stuff like this is not good for the hobby in general. This is actually why I will never get into vintage, MOC Star Wars collecting. Yet another sign that stuff like this alienate people from the hobby rather than bringing them into it.
This is a great lot, but it's a real shame that the seller is asking a somewhat inflated price in this market. And his shipping for the lot is laughable...
If this was in the mid 200s I'd say that it was the beginnings of a good deal, but right now it's too inflated. Even if the lot BIN was in the mid to low 200's (more accurately reflecting current market activity), I still wouldn't buy it because of the outlandish shipping. The fact is that all 9 MOC figs could probably be packed in a Priority Mail box (free) and shipped Cont US for 10 bucks. Maybe 12.
Here's a pic for posterity after the auction is over...
He's currently listing lots of interesting prototypes and whatnot!
The upside is that his selection is great, and his feedback is widely positive.
The downside are his set reserves and it's also hard to verify the validity of prototype toys as well as that of the vintage card prints. They probably aren't knockoffs (I'm guess this guys is reputable, is he a member here?), but I'm just saying.
A note for sellers:
Contrary to what we might guess, I'd say that it's not a good idea in this market to reserve your auctions. Reserves in a failing market might "protect" your investment, but it's been my experience that they also hinder bidding because people don't feel that they'll land a bidding deal, or even bid up to a reserve. I'd say that you shouldn't "Reserve" in this market. Instead, just BIN if you must have a set price.
Ah man...
Back when I bought my copy this game was considered a low print run collectible and it was pretty pricey. But now, here it is complete and ridiculously cheap:
It appears that some of the most sought after Indiana Jones cards ever produced are available on eBay at the moment. I know these aren't vintage, but they are the real deal. The prices are outlandish, but that's the catch of having these items as clearly verifiable examples of autographs from a licensed and produced card set.
It's neat to see these, but I've got to say that it's somewhat fishy that the same seller has all of these cards. He could've dropped the coin on the director autos, but the triple auto card is a 1 of 1. I always hate that because I've got the hardest time believing that it was actually pack pulled.
Anyone here even entertaining the idea of pulling the trigger on one of these? Because of the price point, I could see card collectors more likely to target these than hardcore Indiana Jones fans to be honest. It's the same reason that the signed Jessica Alba card from the Dark Angel set is still incredibly expensive - not due to Alba fans but card collectors.
I was going through a seller's store and couldn't believe it when I saw this....
I usually maintain this thread for vintage stuff that might interest my fellow Raiders, but I had to make mention of that. The guy has listed the 2009 collection's Cargo Truck (fabric canopy variant - the cool one) for $119.99?!?!
Huh?! I know that it was harder to find than the plastic top truck was, but is there something going on with that piece that I don't know about? It seems ridiculous pricing to me!
Also, on that note if anyone is looking for the cool jungle cutter pack, this guy has one listed starting at a penny. Cool jungle cutter pack = TRU Exclusive with 3 figures included. I don't know anything about him as as seller though - his feedback looks a bit shady.

The fabric topped truck was a Woolworths exclusive in the UK. I only got into Indy toys after Woolworths went under, so I missed it at retail. I paid a little over the odds on Ebay, but nowhere near $119.99. As a completist I had to have it, but to be honest, I much prefer the original plastic topped version. It has a more realistic shape.

Interesting... I didn't know that it was an exclusive anywhere. I think I found mine at a K-Mart in Illinois. I am confident that it's one of the scarcer pieces from the line, but not as scarce as the Hasbro German Soldier Indy or Dovchenko 12" figures.
Speaking of the Hasbro Indiana Jones in German disguise, there's one on eBay right now and it's ridiculously cheap. This figure was selling anywhere from 70 to 95 USD in the past. That's a sign of the current market though, although I'd bet that when heads turn back towards Indiana Jones, this, the Mutt w. Jacket and Dovchenko figures will be market burners again.
I have been scouring ebay for this and the Mutt in the leatherjacket figure for months!
That's why I post this stuff, man! Wish I would've seen it sooner though so you would've had more time to bid on it. The auction ended at just over 50 bucks though - actually higher than I thought it'd go in this market. Guess that's a testimony to the demand for those later 12" figures.
I just did another eBay search and I can't believe that there's not another one listed at the moment. When it pops up again I'll put it here for ya.

Oh man, thanks! This guy and the Mutt with the Crystal Skull and leather jacket have been so tough to find! Looking for both.
I know that keychains are not a big deal by any means, but I figured this one was very discreet yet remains identifiable enough that someone here would want it. It's only about a buck at the moment!
It's from one of those celebrity card sets, but it's an authentic Ford autograph and it's a lot cheaper than both the Indy or Star Wars set autos. This one isn't for me, but someone here might appreciate it.
First, because although it guides for about that same price, it's an underprinted final issue from a relatively low print run series. When Indiana Jones mania hits, both issues 33 and 34 tend to skyrocket, usually selling for triple the current asking price. I'm not guaranteeing that, but it's a trend I noticed with the wave culminating with the release of both 80's mania fads and all KOTCS.
Second, this seller claims this book is VF, which is a desirable grade. If it was a VF+, I'd have bought it as a small investment copy to flip when (and if) another movie comes around. There are other copies on the bay right now, but they are within the same price as this one and seem to be lower grade (VG or so).
When the time comes to wrap up your 34 issue collection of Marvel's The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones, this issue and 33 are likely going to be the ones that you'll have to hunt for a bit.
Of course, you could always buy a full set for this guy's BIN of $110.99. Not a bad investment, but you are gambling that his grading is spot on. Most people's "Nmt" actually turn out to be VF as we tend to will books into a higher grade than they are. Still, that full set might be the real deal too.
Trades are great for reading, but nothing beats having the original thing in your collection. Once you've got them, you'd know what I mean.

I know exactly what you mean. I have my comics bagged and lined up in two filing cabinets. When I open a drawer and work through a row there's a thrill to seeing the covers, even if I rarely open a bag to read the comic itself (which is why I stocked up on collections on DVD).
I bought issues 4-29 of TFAOIJ many years ago at an outdoor flea market.
And I concur with JJ and Chromium, this is a great thread for posting pointers to any vintage items that pop up.
I stumbled upon a few interesting listings on the bay tonight that I thought I’d pass on to the Raven’s archeologists.

This listing actually has nothing to do with Indiana Jones, but I've seen it listed on eBay repeatedly over the last few months, and so I thought I’d share the joke with you guys.
-yeesh-
Do a little research before listing your crud on eBay, right? Either way it's good for a laugh...

This particular listing caught my eye, and I must admit that it’s quite irritating on several levels. The listing photo (and even the asking price) is a bit of bait and a switch here. This goofball is asking $859.98 for the vintage Map Room set, yet he's included a picture of a complete Vintage Kenner collection in the listing.
If you ask me, I'm left with no recourse other than to believe the guy is trying to bait a fool buyer (who doesn't read the whole listing) into buying the Map Room for his asking price, under the premise that he’s buying a complete collection.
The moral tale at hand is a philosophical one at that. Who is guiltier here, the deceptive seller working a loophole, or the foolish buyer? I say the seller is the problem. However, let me be clear for the Ravenaiders here.. I would not buy or bid from this guy's listing because it appears to be a disguised scam attempt!
And, on a lighter note here's a fun display piece! Maybe it could be used as a display backer, or just a framed poster somewhere. On one hand, this is the kind of piece that can take away from the sophistication of a nicely displayed collection, but it's also a really fun poster and maybe it would work for some of the younger guys' collections, so I thought I'd post it.
Lastly, here's a great looking AFA set of 6 vintage MOC Kenner figs. While it's nice to see an archived collection like this, you’d have to list nearly a full set of Kenner figures to justify this price in this market. Maybe it'd be good for the hobby if this guy got his asking price, but I just don't see it happening. The market in general is in a drought, there's no Indiana Jones hype at the moment, and this seller is asking for a four figure return on his AFA investment. Tough, tough sale here, I’d say.
It's a nice looking set though, so I've swiped the listing image for posterity. A note to my fellow collectors from a guy who has been relatively successful on eBay in the past: when posting your eBay photos, crop out your crummy background carpet and kitsch decorating tastes. Keep your photo's as neutral as possible. I've cropped the listing picture for reproduction here for your viewing pleasure, but the listing image itself is crumm-o.

Ebay scammers play a big part in giving Ebay it's Evilbay monicker. There are scammers on both sides of the fence - buyers and sellers.
They should all be flogged in public.
Ebay deserves a hero, but the fight will be dirty. So it will get a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A dark knight. He'll know where the scammers live, and he'll pay them a visit after nightfall...
This was a KOTCS release. As I recall, they didn't sell well and Blockbuster ordered their store's to literally throw the leftover stock of these in their dumpsters. It's a cool concept though, and it goes well with your home theater display, or your Indiana Jones statue display. | $9.99 Current Bid Indiana Jones Hand Crafted Resin Movie Case Only
Steelbooks are the new DVD collectors fad. They are pretty awesome, and the KOTCS are tough finds. Note though, that the Blu Ray Steelbook seems to be sought after, this one is the standard DVD. | $17.99, no bids KOTCS Steelbook DVD

I have the Steelbooks for both the regular & Blu-ray editions of "Skull". (In Canada, they were exclusive to Future Shop stores.) While they are nice, there is a drawback to them so just a bit of fair warning for anyone who plans to get one:
The info & photos on the back are not directly printed onto the steel case but, instead, on a piece of paper which is fixed with one, measly dab of glue in the centre. This makes the corners loose and the paper flops & twists around so it's easy to damage when putting back on the shelf. The paper is too large to fit inside either case so you have to be very careful when handling.
Nice to know they are tough finds and sought after because I didn't know that. Thanks for the info, I.M.J.!
