With E3 2009 creating so much excitement even before it arrives in June, I think it's safe enough to discuss what we might expect to see or just plain wish to see at this years E3.
So far some of the things that are already confirmed are really incredible.
Sony has already announced that there PSP2 aka PSP 4000 is already up for the E3 2009 debut. It seems to be a cross between the iPhone/iPod Touch, T-Mobile Sidekick and DS and it also as a sliding screen. Sony really wants to prove that are still in handheld arena even as Wired.com has officially announced that Sony has been crushed by legendary Nintendo. In an attempt to compete with the direction in digital distribution that the iPhone/iPod Touch, Wii, Xbox 360 and DSi have embraced Sony's new PSP has left behind the UMD and will focus on the PSN.
And now lets shift our eyes toward Nintendo.
So far new DSi and Wii releases have been acknowledged as main attractions at the June 2009 E3. Hopefully Nintendo will remain true to diehard Mario fans and at long last unveil Super Mario Galaxy: The Sequel and announced a release date along with a much needed touch screen driven sequel to New Super Mario Bros. While I'm not exactly sure that Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks will be released before June, I am sure that it'll no doubt be featured at E3 due to some of the things I've read and heard in these past days. Lets hope it'll make good use of multilayer online game play via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and Single Card Download Play.
On the other hand Wii Speak will no doubt be announced to have a way communicating with the DSi. Nintendo will also probably expound on Nintendo Zone which should go live nationwide this week or early next week.
I also figure that a handful of DSi exclusive games will be unveiled alongside the new Wii/DSi video on demand channel that's coming to North America along with other nations. I personally am all over the new Wii/DSi video on demand channel. It's a whole new Nintendo revolution.
Hopefully Nintendo will be offering their own content such as a Wario Land: The Shake Dimension animated series. The
game WarioLand: Shake It has wonder animated cutscenes that would make for a perfect television program.
I'd also like to see an Animal Crossing and New Super Mario Brothers animated program and manga here in North
America, furthermore I'd also like to see a Zelda anime on this new Wii/DSi video service created utilizing the same
art style as The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Tracks games, only 2D and not CGI like Star Wars The Clone Wars but cgi mixed with 2D animation as in Prince of Egypt or Atlantis The Lost Empire.
It'd be nice if the seasons of the Zelda anime that I suggested would be set between the games Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks just as Genndy Tartakovsky's Star Wars Clone Wars of 2004 and 2005 was set between the Star Wars movies.
Nintendo has also planned to showcase Nintendo Wii/DSi connectivity via SDHD Cards at this years E3. What this means is that one could begin playing a game on the Wii and continue to play it on their DSi as their ride cross country on the Greyhound bus and simply ride shotgun with their family as over to grandmothers house they go. One can already experience a smidget of this if they own both Animal Crossing: Wild World and Animal Crossing: City Folk as you can move from AC: Wild World to AC: City Folk.
EA Games has planned to hype things up a bit as they'll be bringing Grand Slam Tennis to the Wii and give WiiMotion Plus the good name it deserves.
MySims Racing will also take the E3 conference by storm in more ways than one.
[IMG][/IMG]
And as if Naruto were not enough Eidos Interactive is bring an incredible title known as Mini Ninjas to Nintendo DS and Wii and I really look forward to buying this shuriken worth title.
Nintendo has planned to bring a new and much needed Donkey Kong game to the DSi with 3D graphics like those of the GameCube according to NintendoLife. The game will be known as DK: Jungle Climbers.
There will also be a new Chibo Robo: New Play! Control game for the Wii.
So all in all this years E3 looks to give last years E3 a run for it's money.
Well here is a big surprise! Nintendo has announced a July release for the new Wii Sports: Resort. While nothing was said of the E3 I'm sure Nintendo will do all in their power to promote it at this years E3.
Below is the article as it appears on joystiq:
Iwata: Wii Sports Resort out in Japan this June, overseas in July
by JC Fletcher { Apr 9th 2009 at 9:05AM }
"Satoru Iwata has announced both Japanese and Western release windows for Wii Sports Resort, and thus we can assume for the required MotionPlus peripheral as well. The sequel to the Wii launch title will be out in Japan this June, with an "overseas" release the following month, according to Reuters' account of statements made at a lunch meeting. No pricing was announced. The July release is completely in line with the rumored European date called "rumor and speculation" by NoE.
The Nintendo president named Wii Sports Resort as a measure to combat the Japanese Wii market's current slowdown (a situation he described as "the most unhealthy situation since its launch in Japan.") He denied that Nintendo would cut Wii prices in order to increase sales, saying, "If our products are not much different from competitors', price cuts would generate significant fresh demand. But video games are just not that kind of product.""

Well, seeing as I only have a PS3 (Thanks RRoD for killing my 360) I am going to post what I hope Sony will talk more about.
First, I want to know a US release date for White Knight Chronicles. The game's already out in Japan, but still no release date for the US? We know it's hitting our shores, but when?
Then, we have Tales of Vesperia. An JRPG that was on the Xbox 360. I wanted to play this game, but my 360 died before I had the chance. Now it's to be ported to the PS3 with added features.
Last but not least, I want to know the title and see footage of Team Ico's next game. They gave us Ico and Shadow of the Colossus both for PS2. They are working on another game for the PS3.
WOW i surly be buying Grand Slam Tennis.Awesome PSP I don't think my will let one PSP because I have allready. I'm buying Wii Sports Resort i like that dog. I hope we can go to the 2009 E3.
Man, that Tales of Vesperia looks good, really good LonsomeDrifter. I'll have to investigate it. BTW I think something called Tales of Grace is coming to the DS.
Here are some more good looking games we can look forward to seeing at the E3.
To be honest it really does seem as if this will be the greatest E3 ever!

Wow nice game Big League Sports i would love to buy that game.
Here is a game you might like new Family Pirate Party for Wii.
That PSP is sexier than Jessica Alba................ Finally two analog sticks yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!
But no umd disks? Hmmmmmm
As far as I'm concerned, they'll add on the UMD's because they can't afford to turn off the customers who have UMD based games. Seriously I don't believe they digital distribution won't be a success, I think that it will be a successful new field. But we must still serve those who enjoy UMD's, and other traditional means of game distributional methods.
Here is the cover of yet another upcoming Ben10 game.

Well to be honest, there is another Mario game in the works and I've heard from different sites that a Super Mario Galaxy sequel will be shown at this years E3.
BTW here are some screen shots from a new MySims game know as MySims Agents.
BTW here is an image from a new Zorro game for the Wii. However it does not have a U.S. release date yet as far as I know.
Titles like Big League Sports on Wii look retarded to me (no offense to those who like them). There's too much "bargain bin" medicore looking sports themed games on Wii created by third party companies if you ask me. The types of things to get me excited this year would be either a new Mario announcement (highly unlikely) or a Wii Zelda (more likely but still iffy). I mean, there hasn't technically even been a Zelda for Wii yet. No, Twilight Princess doesn't count because it was actually a Game Cube game and not developed with the Wii in mind (it didn't even utilize it's graphical abilities).
By the way, that image up top of that PSP isn't official. I saw it on IGN and the article stated it was a mock-up by a fan. Although if that's true it looks pretty sweet. I'd buy something like that.

As much as I like the Wii, this is one of its biggest problems. The system itself simply isn't being utilized the way it should be and there is way too much shovelware and knock-offs being released. The Wii is a powerful system and has some amazing games but unfortunately they're becoming few and far between. A new Kirby, Mario, Zelda, or Star Fox game would help immensely.
I looking forward to the new release date for Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings, it's Next gen iteration and Rock Star announcing Vice Third World City: The Indiana Jones Adventure.

That's one of the reasons why I never bothered to buy a Wii. Sure, there are a few games that I would love to play (such as Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros: Brawl, etc), but I can't see myself buying the system just for a few games.
It's sorta like the Gamecube but worse. I had a 'cube; while there were some great games for it, they were too few and far between for me. Also, I'm not a huge fan of the controller. I'll just stick with my PS3.

This has been true of most Nintendo consoles though. At least since the N64. Except N64 had titles like Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Starfox 64, Mario 64, Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It had enough "mind blowingly great" titles to keep it going. It's third party games were though, definitely better.
GameCube I'd say was a bit worse in the first-party/third party selection. But it did have some great games like WindWaker and Super Mario Sunshine (even tho it's impact was much much less than M64 or galaxy).
Wii definitely has some craptastic third party titles though. I bought it the day it came out and mainly to play Twilight Princess and the upcoming Mario game I knew would be coming out. Obviously both of those were great and so was Mario Kart and SSBB. But now what? I don't exactly get excited to see another lame third-party game that has production values of a cell phone game.
Give me Zelda Nintendo! I need nex-gen Zelda!!!!! hahaha.

Yes, I remember the days of the N64. The first-party titles by Nintendo (like always) were superb, but most of the third-party games were turds. Now there were great third-party publishers and developers such as Rare, Acclaim, and some others.
I also think the N64 had alot more games that were good that were not made by Nintendo such as Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Turok 1 and 2, Shadowman, Mischief Makers, etc.
The N64 was the last GREAT Nintendo console in my opinion. They garnered a rep as a kiddy system the most during the Gamecube era and some gamers migrated to the Xbox or PS2, and thus most of the third-party devs made games for those consoles. Also the lack of RPGS hurt the gamecube a great deal.
Now we have the Wii. Nintendo are still making AAA games like always. But, all the other publishers are churning out shovelware. Shovelware and mini-games are huge for the casual gamer. But, those like us who want more meat and game for our buck are turned off. But, the casual gamers are the ones who have brought the Wii to the top of the mountain this generation, and thus I see no change in the near future.

Well, part of the problem I think is...
1.) Third-party developers really have no idea how to utilize the controls of the Wii as creatively as Nintendo (who created it) does.
2.) They keep making those games because unfortunately... they're selling well.
3.) Nintendo is beginning to think these casual games are what people WANT.
.... I think the system is pretty awesome, if not a little underpowered for this generation. It just needs more creativity behind more solid products. Where's the people out there dreaming up crazy stuff like Turok. First person shooters on the Wii could be awesome, lots of untapped potential.

Somebody's gotta do it.
This is a good summation of where Nintendo is. I have no problem with them catering to a casual audience; in fact, I think it's great that they're bringing so many different types of people into the video game realm. However, I think they've spent so much time reaching this audience that much of their original and core audience is getting bored and fed-up in the process. If they could just find a good balance between the two groups they'd really be soaring.

I also am pleased with Nintendo's embracing of the casual gamer. Studies and news reports continue to point out that it is the casual gamer who has driven the Wii and DS to such high sales.
In fact I know quite a good number of people who use their Wii's and DS's far more than their XBOX's or PS2's. I for one am a big supporter of Nintendo's Wii and DS and at the same time I also enjoy the iPod Touch and to some extent the PSP.
But never fear, I have been reading a lot of info on the upcoming E3. And it seems from what I've read that their will be a new Mario and Zelda title for Wii that will be revealed. However Nintendo has made it clear that they will also focus on the DSi at this years E3.
Well it looks like yet another good title will be revealed at this years E3 and I this one is for you Agent Crab as I believe you will like it.
The name of the upcoming title is Final Fantasy Legend II and I've gotten say that this looks good. It's a remake of a classic known as SaGa2. Anyway I know that you like RPG AgentCrab and as I'm a big RPG fan myself I just wanted to share these images with you and all the other Raven guys.
Hopefully Final Fantasy Legend II will contain online multiplayer game play and voice chat.
Lets hope and do we can to ensure that Square-Enix will release this game here in the U.S. and the rest of the Western world at the same time it is released in Japan so we don't have to wait a whole year to buy Final Fantasy Legend II the way we had to wait when Final Fantasy III got a remake a few years back.
