In all the indiana jones movies each one represents a different acient civilization. Raiders: Acient egypt Temple:asia Crusade: Knights/midievil Skull: ancient south americans. But what would they do for Indy 5? I think the romans/greeks would be nice either that or ancient africans. What do you think?

Yep - I'd agree. Having a relic/MacGuffin which specifically represents a civilization/religion, obviously gives the moviemakers reason to link the story to specific geographies/locales. As you suggest, Rome would be good... Greece/Britain/France and China too.
