Is Mola Ram a name or a title?

I always thought Mola Ram was the guys name but a friend told me it was his title. I can't find any use of the word out side of TOD, but they could have made a title like Lucas did for Sith. Anyone know? It doesn't really sound like a title but also I can't see a happy new mom looking at her son and saying "I got the prefect name for him, how about Mola. Yes Mola Ram"-Mommy Ram
