I'm looking for some screen grabs of the costume that Indy wears in the Mexican segments of YIJC (suit jacket, classic hat, collarless shirt) - specifically the gunbelt and bandolier. The pics here on the Raider are good, but lacking the detail I require. Anyone help me out ? Alternatively, can anyone tell me if the holster of the gunbelt is strapped to his thigh, and whether it hangs from the main belt on a separate strap (like Han Solo's) ?

Here ya go, Inky. He's wearing a tie-down holster:
It looks a similar design to my holster:
The gun is covering the point where the holster strap loops through the belt.

Heh-heh. I know where this is leadng, Inky. Do I smell a Young Indy custom figure in the works? Looks like you're going to beat ddschnieder to the punch! Are you going to make a minature jakcal head, too?
Don't have my DVDs with me but here's a good look at his holster belt & bandolier. (The holster belt he wears during the raid on Hearst's hacienda looks darker in colour.)
His scraggly whip. The jacket has four buttons with another button hole on his left lapel:
All his clothes are pin-striped (not sure about his vest at the moment). His boots are very plain with no laces and dark gray/black. Thread detail:

Inky, I'm back in Canada right now and don't have my DVDs with me but I'll do some scrounging around if no one else comes forward with any decent jackal images.
Re: the belt/s. During the raid on Ciuadad Guerrero, I think Indy may have 2 belts. One for the holster and one for his trousers. The latter may be black with a silver buckle (but I'm not positive).

I'm just putting the DVD into the PC now - any excuse to watch a bit of Young Indy is good enough!

Thanks guys. I think the Hasbro Indy came with an artefact that's very similar to the jackal - so I can press that into action (with some mods). Nothing to show yet as I'm holding the figure back for a while until Hemble decides on whether he's doing another customising competition.
Looks like Ron may go for a 3 3/4" figure competition, then we'll get to see your figure sooner
Indeed we may...
Hate to impose on you guys again, but does Indy fight any key bad guys in this episode - and do you have any grabs of either the character or the locale ?
EDIT: Especially interested in Demetrios - his clothing / house / fight with Indy.

Okay, Inky, here's the exterior of Demetrios' place:
The middle of the floor in the front room:
The beaded curtain into the back room:
Inside the back room looking at the same curtain:
The cabinet containing the Jackal in the back room:
Looks like there's a bed and chair in the back room, but the action happens very fast and you don't get to see much.

Ink, you may already know but Demetrios/Claw was played by Vic Tablian, the same guy who played Barranca and the Monkey Man in "Raiders". I doubt you could use a Monkey Man head if the eye patch is fixed on but thought I'd point it out in case you hadn't noticed. (Did you ever make a mini-Barranca? I *think* you did. You could use the same head, if you did make one.)
When I get hold of my DVDs next weekend, I can get you more pics if you still need some.

Yes, Attila, I forgot. Though, the Raven is THE place to go for all the latest info on upcoming Marvel & DC superhero movies, Disney films, etc.
On-Topic:
Inky, if you've decided to do the showdown fight between Indy & Demetrios/Claw as your diorama then I won't bother with finding shots of Indy's vest or Claw's hat.

Missed the joke by that much?
Incidentally, while I'm on my way out of this thread: Stoo, there's a thread over here where your particular brand of observational skills could be useful.

Oh, the joke was recognized, I was using the opportunity to vent. (Nice "Get Smart!" reference!) As for the other thread, thanks for the compliment. Will check it out.
On Topic:
Inky, I've you're going to do the fight scene. Build a raised floor and install a red or orange bulb below which could simulate fire & cast some light out of the opening! (Just an idea.)

Ok - so now I'm really interested. Lighting my customs is something I've done before (Kali Shrine, Ark Ghost), so under-floor effects would be within my capabilities. Looking back at Montana's pictures I'm guessing that particular scene is the one with the dynamite crates ? What does the rest of the room look like at that point ? I'm planning on putting Indy and Demetrios in there - so no need for the hat / vest detail Stoo. I'm not too worried about making it totally screen accurate - I may amalgamate interesting aspects from the whole sequence into the diorama...
Oh - and I'd heard it was Vic - just haven't actually seen any of the YIJC. Unfortunately I never got round to making Barranca, but I've got a few ideas how I could possibly leverage the existing Monkey Man head...

Working from the DVD it's hard to get a full picture of the layout of the first room - we see the hole in the floor as Indy walks towards the beaded curtain, then later we see the shelves and all the junk. I don't know if there's any behind the scenes production photos or diagrams to help with this.
Thanks for your help everyone. The two figures for the diorama are now complete, and I'll be doing the interior of the building (max dio size is only 10x10cm). Lighting components have been ordered, so dynamite is a go !
Agree that the exterior of Demetrios' hideout would make a cool backdrop for a diorama though...
