It was apparently in the junior novelization, which I've never read. It wasn't in the standard version. It's in the
Ultimate Guide and in the Trumps game.
The West End Games
Raiders Sourcebook goes into a lot of detail about the place.

Yes, I believe it was created as a "print" though you've never seen it in that form.
