I have a crazy idea for Indy 5

I was just thinking of this the other day, but i think that it would be cool to have Tom Selleck as a co-star. Since he was originally going to be Indy he could be like Indy's alter-ego. The what if Indy stayed in the game for just the fortune and glory.

I actually gave him a cameo in my own Indy 5 script. It's a play on the Raiders scene where Indy talks to the government agents. This time, the disbelief comes from "Agent Sellick", who tries to talk down to Indy, saying "Yeah, yeah, you found an Ark, so what? I'd have gone after it myself if I wasn't busy surfin' in Hawaii".

Although, I like your idea better: Sellick's character could be that fallen shadowy reflection Belloq spoke of. Very cool!

There have already been people that have said about Tom Selleck being In Indy 5 on other threads.If he would play a good guy or a bad guy,I do agree with both you and them,it would be a fun idea to have him in the 5th movie.

and here i was thinking i was the only one to think of that. just kidding. i guess most any Indiana Jones fan comes up with that idea once they learn the whole story. it would be really cool though.

Tom had an audition for the role of Indy, but lucky for us Magnum P.I. came along and made him unavailable.

I had an idea to have Selleck play a fellow Archaeologist at a rival University. His character is like the anti-Indy where he is very proper and sophisticated and has published books giving him celebrity status in the archaeological community. Also he was on the "top men" that were entrusted to study the Ark which makes Indy resent him even more. In the story, the U.S Gov't hires Selleck's character to lead a team on a secret mission to locate a certain Macguffin. Indy is reluctantly selected because of his past exploits but he at first refuses because he does not want to be taking orders from Selleck but it's a Macguffin he doesn't want a pass up. He and Selleck of course provide plenty of banter and gain a new respect for each other by the end of the film.

To have him at least as a cameo would be cool. Seeing his audition as Indiana Jones in the special features disc was a fun addition.
