Ok, it's not just me then. I am seeing all that you are seeing. Weird though, if these are different figures than the protos that they have been showing at cons all year, why haven't we seen more pics than this one?

Someone over at the SS Freaks "tweaked" the photo a bit and came up with this comparison shot:

Not the clearest pic in the world, but it looks pretty different to me.

It did look quite different. I saw the pic on Sideshow Freaks, but the poster's deleted it, probably because so many were making fun of it.

Here are some resized versions:

I think the faces look less intense than the prototpye already shown. But we know from the Resident Evil Alice how much the glass distorts the figures.

Looks like a photo from the same show. And it looks like the prototype (apart from his PERS positioning!).

Just saw this on HT's FB page. Of course, everyone at the SS Freaks is freaking out. Obviously, it is a really bad photo...way too much flash/glare and weird positioning of the PERS. The flash is making is eyes look crazy. The hat looks good to me, and I still see a lot of Ford in the sculpt despite the bad photography. I'm still in. I am sure that, in hand, he is going to be awesome.

Since I posted my Hot Toys Alice arrived, and she looks incredible - nothing like those bad show photos of the very same sculpt. So, I think it's very likely that in hand, this Indy will also look incredible. (Hopefully in a good way!)

Yeah, I'm not worried about Indy. I don't have Alice, but I thought she turned out pretty nice looking. This is the typical, pre-release, awful photo causing hysteria. Happens every time

And the Sideshow Freaks have now officially gone into full hysteria mode!

It's almost too painful to watch!

LOL...I wonder how many some of those folks have cancelled, then re-ordered, then cancelled, then re-ordered. Between the hysteria, the cancelling, and the photoshopping it's really comical. Then you get the name callers and the "vote with your dollars" people. Just too funny!

I still got mixed feelings about it. The hat on the figure looks great and is an improvement to the prototype. The pants are a bit light but I like the weathering on them. The headsculpt looks different but at this size I can't tell if it is better than before. I think the PERS isn't complementing the sculpt. It also looks like the second hairstyle won't be included.
The box-art is great besides the fact that they used a crappy Dorfman Style hat for reference. I can't believe that somebody really thinks this one looks similiar to an Indy Fedora (even if they got it right on the figure).

In the end I'm still buying it

If the hat is actually sitting lower now, and not a trick of the picture, then they possibly reworked the hair so that one size now fits all!

I'm glad they weathered the trousers, but the shoes could still do with toning down more.

To me the headsculpt looks the same, except around the eyes, where it's looking a bit odd.

I committed myself to this at the first opportunity, so I've had no choice but to suffer the insults thrown at him on Sideshow Freaks!

Having taken the time to look closer at fedoras recently, that box art does look like a Dorfman with the 'fat pinch'.

The first in hand photos, taken by faststreetsofhongkong:

Despite the outrage of the Freaks, I'm pleasantly surprised by the outcome, even considering that faststreets rushed these pictures out in a hurry. It's certainly not a harsh sculpt like the prototype pictures.

Nice.
So, the second hairpiece is still there. Even if these pics aren't the best, I must say I like the Headsculpt. It is definitely Ford and the PERS does look good. I'm really happy how this figure turned out.

Yes, I can definitely see Harry, too.

Some better pictures can be far away.

First seller is stripping him down:

The picture of the headsculpt is alot better than the previous photos. I like it very much. It's not 100% Ford but it's him.

Oh, and he comes with underwear

There is something unsettling about the features. Maybe the heavy jawline? I need to convince myself!

Harry's a difficult mug to capture, as he can look so different from shot to shot.

Nice to see a little optimism for this (just got back from visiting the SS Freaks ). FastStreet's pics, while certainly welcome, are pretty crappy...and he's the frist to admit it...but I am definitely seeing HF a lot more in this sculpt than Sideshow's or Medicom's. The pics are pretty washed out with flash, so not really indicative of the actual figure in-hand. Apparently FS doesn't actually have the figure, just snapped pics in the HT store. I'm sure, all put together, he will be great! I love the box (despite the hat), it's a welcome departure from the same old LFL directed graphics we have been getting. Can't wait for better in hand pics!

**EDIT** Ok, well started this post before the new pics. I think the HS looks great in that new shot! About the only thing I am really disappointed in is the holster, the flap should have more of an angle to it, but hopefully that can be dealt with easily.

Wow, I had to get away from SSF for a while. The rampant hate in there is suffocating. Those people won't ever back down once they choose a position.

When a great shot is posted eventually - and I'm sure it will - they are so negative that they won't be able to admit that the sculpt is good.

I had this on pre-order from BBTS, but have cancelled that in favor of going for an ebay purchase.

Can't wait.

edit: I think the holster looks like a pretty good TOD/LC version and I will use it for that.

Even the 'mhc' picture is washed out, and both that one and faststreet's are taken with the head turned slightly, so it doesn't line up with Indy in the classroom.

I think the best looking shot, the one that sells this figure as Indy, is this one,

which shows a lighter jawline.

There is so much detail in these HT 1/6 sculpts that quality pictures are the key. I had trouble trying to capture the Milla figure, and just couldn't get a picture that conveyed just how good she really is.

You haven't been here in a long while, but I'm glad the SSF drove you back home!

I find it really oppressive over there, too. I keep up with the threads mainly to see the pictures.

I've had this on pre-order since January, on the presumption that Hot Toys wouldn't let us down. I think the sculpt is going to be okay, and nothing else is worrying me, except maybe the jacket. It may be too bulky, though it does look great from the back. Which probably means it could be futzed to look right.

Yeah, the MHC pic isn't great either, but better than FastStreets.

I gotta agree with the SSF boards, "oppresive" is quite an apt description. I just don't get some of those people.

Everyone over there keeps touting the Sideshow sculpt. I like that sculpt ok, but the sheeks are a little chubby IMO. Unpainted pics of it look good, but SS ruined it with crappy paint apps. I think HT's looks a lot closer to Indy.

Regarding the jacket, in that first FastStreets shot , it looks pretty bad, but looks good in the others. I'm sure it just needs to be "futzed" a little. With the figure posed and some creases in it, it will look a lot better than straight out of the box with his arms straight down like that.
