Indiana Jones and Books

As we learned from later episodes, especially Princeton 1916, Indy likes a good book, especially the Tom Swift series. But is it likely he was interested in sci-fi as well, such as H.G. Wells and Jules Verne? or Percival Lowell?

Also, do ya think Henry Sr and Marcus tried to flee after the infamous Orson Welles War of the Worlds broadcast?

In the "Winds of Change" DVD, Indy says that he loves Verne's "From the Earth to the Moon". (During his young days, I like to think that he had read some H.G. Wells, Edgar Rice Burroughs and Arthur Conan Doyle as well.)

Unicorn, you may find this thread interesting: What books would Indy have on his shelves?

In the first chapters of Young Indiana Jones and the Titanic Adventure Indy meets Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and they talk about Sherlock Holmes. He was about twelve then, so you're right about that.

Meeting Conan Doyle could have been his entry into the world of the occult?

(George, if you happen to be reading this. Please don't put flower fairies into Indy V)
