Question

I installed the game once and I was getting these glitchy lines in the screen when the camera faced a certain way. So, i decided to try and uninstall and reinstall. Well, the uninstaller doesnt work. Goes from 0-100% in the blink of an eye and says it is finished. So I went into windows explorer and deleted the lucas arts folder. Then I did a search in files for anything Indiana Jones, or Lucas Arts, and deleted them. Even went into regedit and deleted the lucas arts folder there. But now when I try to re-install the game, I get the main window with the install button on it and I click install and the uninstaller pops up and it tries to uninstall the game??? When I go to the add-remove programs in the control panel it shows a 7.89 mb file that I cant remove. When I try to remove it the uninstaller pops up and it goes from 0-100% in a sec and it say it is finished but the file is still there???? I E-mailed tech help at lucas arts and I havent heard anything from them, was wondering if anyone here might have an answer for me, thanks, Bruce

Just wait until Lucas Arts replies.
Second: First uninstall the game then delete the folders that left in there, otherwise it can't find the files and gives an error.
Because it's still in the regestry somewhere you can't install it now. So wait till LucasArts sent you an e-mail what to do or download an registry cleaner.

If you are familiar with editing the Windows registry you can cure the problem yourself.

Caution: Modifying the registry can render your system useless if you don't know what you do, so be careful!

Open the regedit and navigate to the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products key. Below that key, you find a bunch of subkeys with cryptic names. They relate to your installed programs. Now iterate these subkeys, open each one and see what is displayed in the right pane. You will eventually find the subkey which relates to the Emperor's Tomb.

Once you found it, delete it (the entire subkey). That's it.

Thanks ND.....I got in the registry as per your instructions, but unfortunately I cant tell which one is the lucas arts folder. I've got 9 folders under the products tab, all of which 2 I can tell what they are. The 2 that I cant tell have product names of MMC81 and DAO. But since I dont know what the are I dont want to screw around with them, but thanks for the help, Bruce

The location I gave you previously relates to programs which use the MS Windows Installer for installation. However, ET does not.

Here is the correct location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall

The subkey name on my system is:
{0DBF3265-57F1-4D8A-87EA-332B2A669BDE}

I think it should be the same on yours. If you open the subkey you see "Indiana Jones and the Emperors Tomb" in the DisplayName string value.

Hope this helps.

Woohoo, U da man.....hehe. Deleted that entry and it installed fine. Thanks a heap. But I am still getting these annoying lines in the screen about a quarter of an inch wide, sometimes vertically, sometimes horizontally, sometimes both. Kinda looks like a faded out scene from somewhere else in the game with little L shaped objects in them. Doesnt do it all the time, just at certain camera angles. Looks like I might have to live with them I guess. I did dl the patch. Am running a p4 1.6, raedon 9800pro, SB live audio. Thanks again for gettin me going. (Like I would have ever found that entry, lol)

You have to hold down the button. When you let go, it returns to third person.

DOH! I changed my controls but I finally figured out it was the jump key, hehe. The jump key to swim, go figure, hehe.
I must admit this is the first time I have played an action adventure game like this. Have been playing mostly MOHAA and BF1942. Some friends of mine were playing it on a console and said they were having a good time playing it so I thought I would give it a try. But the movement seems very awkward (sp?) to me, any tips on the best way of movement would be greatly appreciated....thanks
