What are your favourite lines as said by Marion in Raiders?

Mine are:

"I don't know what type of people you're used to dealing with, but nobody tells me what to do in my place."

"Well Jones. At least you haven't forgotten to show a lady a good time. Until I get my five thousand dollars, you're gonna get more than you bargained for. I'm your god damn partner!"

"So how come you haven't found a nice girl to settle down with and raise eight or nine kids like your friend Sallah?"

"You're not the man I knew ten years ago."

"Well God damnit Indy! Where doesn't it hurt?"

"C'mon, let me buy you a drink. Y'know, a drink?"

Marion BAH! not another one of canyon's "what are you favorite (enter name) lines?" threads!

well, the whole scene at the raven is great, I like that diolog there

when she first sees indy and says "Indiana Jones, I always knew you'ld come walking...." like the way she says it

"I'll bet you would!"

the scene in the market about the monkey is nice too

but the best Marion quote of them all:

"YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME! I'M AN AMERICAN!!!!"

I like the inflection in the "It was wrong and you knew it" line.

She has a lot of good lines . . . but in my opinion the best communication from Marion in the whole movie isn't verbal -- it's the look she gives Indy on Sallah's terrace.

The whole scene in the Raven (ha ha!) with Indy and Marion is great- their past is kept a bit ambiguous. It's a very well-written scene, probably the best of its type. My favorite line would have to be "I was a child! I was in love!" But then again, I'm a HUGE Marion fan- so I love all her lines.

Understandably so. I like the scene with Marian and Belloq in the tent.

OH! I almost forgot about that! I love that scene too. Especially when she says, "I have no loyalty to Jones. He's brought me nothing but trouble." That's a great line.

"Must have slipped his mind."

The way she says it with the cigarette dangling from her mouth just goes to show what a tuff girl she is and makes her my favorite Indy girl.

You're right. Here's a lady that's been knocked around and she still has no fear. I'm changing my vote.

The best part about this favorite Marion line is what she says next:

"INNNNNNNDDYYYYYYYY!"

I replay that a few dozen times!

Another hilarious line occurs after she smashes Indy on the chin with the steamed-up mirror in Raiders. He screams so damn loud you can hear it on the open ocean, and she has the nerve to turn to him and quip:

"Whatdidyasay?"

While it's funny and it works in the film, I don't like the "YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME! I'M AN AMERICAN!!!!" line for two reasons:

(1) after having been dragged around the world looking for Abner's pieces of junk and left stranded in Nepal where she had to fend for herself, I just don't see her uttering that line, and

(2) I don't think the whole ugly-American thing (with Americans having a feeling of entitlement) got started until after WWII. (But I admit we had the Monroe Doctrine and our (mis)adventures in the Phillipines (sp?) -- and not to forget we saved the French in WWI).
