I was thinking the other day that Indiana Jones fans need a name to call ourselves by! I know Star Trek fans are called "Trekkies." Indy fans who collect pieces of Indy's trademark adventure outfit are called Indy Gearheads. But we don't have our own catchy name to identify ourselves as Indy fans! In Marvel Comic's Indiana Jones series, they liked to refer to Indy fans as "bud-arcs" - Budding Archeologists. Personally, I thought that was lame. I thought that Indy fans should be called
"Indyologists," which is where yours truly got her nickname. When people asked me what my hobbies are or what I like, I always enjoyed saying, "Why, I'm an Indyologist." I still say that!
Does anyone here have any suggestions as to a cool name we could call ourselves by?
People who watch Stargate are called gaters. it's a welcome name. We gave it to ourself. I don't know about the trekkies one. Did they give it to themselves?
From the insight of my friend Chris, who is heavily in Star Trek....The term Trekkie is derogatory. They prefer the term Trekker. Don't ask me why....I don't know.

Hallelujah! All praise the one who always treads there where others don't, reveals us the hidden mysteries of the past and saves us from the life of intense boredom... SISTER, HAVE YOU SEEN THE MIGHT? The might of an adventure that flows inside all of us? Now, take me to the edge of the world and show that it all really doesn't just end there... praise the Doctor who leads us there! Now, cap on your fedoras and join us, since we are we truly ARE GOING AFTER FORTUNE AND GLORY!
Damn, what a preacher the world has lost in me. I almost hope I wasn't a pagan.
Yeah, that's not bad... 'til the moment some MTV-generation kid shows up and starts wondering where are the dual pistols and big boobs.
(I like the name myself and we all do know that Indy was the original Raider, the one to whom the name truly belongs, but I guessed that a warning mite be appropiate.)
Feds
Whiiiiipers ("Throw me the idol, I throw you the whiiiip"....you had to of played Outlaws and found the secret area to understand that one)
Though my vote goes to: Raiders
Might I just intercept? The term "trekkie" is indeed an insult, the true term is "trekker", and yes it is perhaps more suited from trekker to trekker, than say, trekker to non-trekker, although i think it would only work as non-trekker to trekker since a non-trekker could not be classed as a trekker, neither does it may any sense to refer to a non-trekker as a non-trekkie since trekkie is an insult, but that's cool to insult non-trekkers.
