How did you view yourself before joining The Raven?

How high did you rate your Indy fandom? Before joining this site I thought I was the biggest Indy buff around and after 5 years on this site I am but a skid mark on the underwear of Indy fandom. How about you?

I feel about the same as I do now. I'm a more knowledgeable about the behind-the-scenes stuff and random other Indy tidbits and trivia. But, before I joined I was a fan of the movies, and the character and wanted to collect the books. Now, I am still a fan of the movies and character, and own the books.
I never was a hardcore fan. I didn't own any of the figures, or had all the gear to wear, and I am still the same. I love Indiana Jones, but I don't even own a fedora!
So, all-in-all I viewed myself the same as I do now. Just a fan.

It's an interesting question, really. I'm sure we can all say that our fandom has evolved since joining, which can just be chalked up to the passage of time anyway. I viewed myself as a fan before, but since this is my biggest obsession, and don't really have much else to compare it to, I can't really say much more past that, except that I've gone from viewing myself as a "Big Fan" to Uber-Indy-Nutcase" since then.

Me neither.

Obsessions come and go.

There are too many interesting characters and worlds in existence to be fanatical about just one.

At present I feel just as I did before KOTCS: I have no inclination to watch an Indiana Jones film again in the forseeable future.

Good question. I always thought I was a diehard super fan. I now know I am a big fan, but nothing compared to some others on here. I've learned a lot at The Raven. And by far, I'm the biggest fan of anyone I know in real life (not cyberspace).

I will say, though, it's now hard to watch the movies for pure enjoyment like I used to. I almost know too much about them, and can't stop thinking about posts I've read or written, or new topics/questions/comments. I don't think I can immerse myself in the movies anymore, which is a bit of a bummer.
