Trailer for an Indiana Jones movie

I have posted a trailer for a longer movie called "The Searchers." Based on the Indiana Jones movies, this one includes a great cast, stunts and everything else one would expect from the regular series. Check it out on You Tube.

We made this in 1997 with just an 8mm video camera, a couple VCR decks and anything else we could come up with that would bring us a little bit closer to making movie magic. See for yourself! Hopefully in the future I will be able to post parts or the whole 1hr 10min movie.

Welcome Hogan!
Great trailer. Did you have to edit sound separately for 8mm?
This is the first fan film I've seen that includes aerial stunts.

movie editing

Thanks Moedred,

For sound we were able to use the on-board mic built into the 8mm video camera for most of it, but then we did add sound effects in our finished VCR edit version such as looping plane noise, fight scene punches, gun shots... all the fun stuff.

This trailer is a product of more recent editing where the whole movie was run through many, many hours on Adobe and then placed on our local cable access channel for viewing.

The aerial scenes were great. We were incredibly fortunate to be able to have that in our movie.

Wow!

I usually can't stomach "fan film" cause most of it is bloody awful, but this looks really very cool! Balls-to-the-wall action... real stunts.... REAL action!!

Very well done indeed!

Let's see more!

LOL

The Searchers: Canyon Escape now posted

Thanks for the comments on this board. I have now uploaded the opening sequence to our movie "The Searchers" on YouTube.

Allowing for space limits, I have posted it in five parts. In the future, I will look for an alternate way to post more scenes from the film or possibly all of it in its entirety.

Here are the links:

Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPQwMt6EotU
Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUh8O9gJ3JQ
Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXqofmAMC8c
Part 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWzoUw2HxFs
Part 5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECDwo6bskw8

Like I said this is just from the opening sequence to the film. There are also other great action scenes including the plane dive-bombing sequence, the battle on Massada mountain and everything in between.

Enjoy!

Asa fellow filmmaker, 'd like to say Congrats on a fanatastic fan film and shoot on real film. An absolute rarity for Indyfan films.
