A New Indygirl for Indy IV
In my opinion, there shouldn't be a new Indygirl. That's probably because I'm a Marion Ravenwood fan and would like to see her end up with Indy. Yes I'm one of those fans that quite liked the idea that Marion and Indy had a secret love child. Though on the other side of the coin, there must be a new Indygirl as in every film of the series so far, there is a new one and would be out of sync if there wasn't. There are rumours that Calista Flockhart might be the new Indygirl. God I hope not. I seriously can't see Ally McBeal coping with jungles and deserts looking for a priceless artifact.
But you KNOW they're not gonna play him as 64.... I'll wager they'll try to sell him as under 50 (Whether they'll succeed is a totally different matter) so, not a big deal at all...
Besides, I'm hard pressed to think of anyone who'd be better in the period than Miranda.
True, true. Wasn't he in his 40s in the Last Crusade and wasn't Indy supposed to be like in his 30s? And I think Harrison and Sean are like twelve years apart and they played father and sun. But we also have to keep in mind he was younger and hadn't started graying as much as he currently is. =/ But like you said, they'll most likely try to pass him off as a much younger man and his fans probably won't care. I know I won't.
I think Indy would be a LOT more interesting if he wasn't PG-13....
Possibly.... But it just wouldn't be right. It wouldn't fit with the other movies. One of the many reasons I've always loved the Indiana Jones movies is how decent, clean, and family-friendly they are. They're better than the same old Hollywood crapola:
Sex
Vulgar language
R rating
It's always the same mess in films anymore. That's one reason why Indiana Jones is on such a higher level than most films.
One, I'm talking about the really vulgar stuff (F-bombs and GD's); two, I'm talking about excessive usage of those vulgar words, like movies today are completely caked in filthy words.
Christ dude, I thought you were in second grade!!!! How in the hell would you know about her? Jesus. She's certainly a "used" broad.... my god... you cat hide a cat in... anyway.
That genuinely shocked me... Jenna Jameson has made a transition to mainstream, but I've seen some of Mrs. Banks Films, and it is some seriously SICK stuff. If were going for porn I’d say Kyla Cole. She has nice eyes. She could be a great glasses model.
Anyway, I’d like to see Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfieffer team up again. I really like her.
If she were six years older, I think Cate Blanchett would be good.
I'm not concerned about the rating... if they decide it needs to be R... well, I'll see it and make up my mind then.
Oh, and I don't remember any sex or swearing in the old Zorro movies... or the Carl Barks cartoons... There's nothing wrong with a PG Indy movie in today's society... we haven't REALLY gone downhill like everyone wants to b#tch and moan about.
Oh, and the "GD's" have been used in all the Indy movies...
It's always the same mess in films anymore. That's one reason why Indiana Jones is on such a higher level than most films.
as a matter of fact, that's the reason why the indy movies are more sucessful than most films. don't offend anyone and everyone will watch it. i agree with the labored depiction of sex and vulgar language might ruin a movie. but in the end, especially the r rating, it all depends on what a movie wants to show. i regard movies as a medium of art. which surely does not apply to all movies by far, but movies can be great and on a much higher level than indiana jones with sex, vulgar language and an R rating. to give you an example, you might want to consider "naked lunch". drugs, homosexuality, sex, vulgar language, rated R and it's one of the best movies i know. the level of a movie is determined by many things, among which there is the question "what does the director want to tell the audience?". entertainment isn't such a high level (which doesn't mean i don't like indy), the indy movies are just supposed to appeal a large audience and - it works.
No... it'd make it more like the source material they ripped off to MAKE Indy... make him more true to the 'spirit of adventure'
I think it'd be wonderful
"movies today are completely caked in filthy words."
Wow... I'm surprised you can even access this web-site from way back there in the 1950s...
I'm not in the 1950s.... I just happen to have morals and I don't follow the current culture, filthy, politically correct flock. I have morals and beliefs, and I stand up for my beliefs.
You say it'd make it more like the source material they ripped of to make Indy... but it wouldn't be like Indy. See? What you're saying is that filling the new Indy film with filth and getting an R rating would make it more like what it was "supposed to be," but what I'm saying is that if they decide to do that, it won't be like the other Indy movies, which are much cleaner than most of the crap we watch today. I enjoy movies. I'm all for a decent movie, even if it's got filth in it, but if there's anything we can do about it, we need to make fewer filty films.
About the "GD's." Apparently you didn't read my entire posts. I said language in the Indy films aren't like the films of today. Get it?
You mean Peter Jackson's latest 3+hour crap-fest?!?! Interested take on "Very good film"... Evidently a definition of the word good I was previously unaware of...
