"stainless steel blade" = wall hanger

Not meant to be a functional blade. So build quality is really just the looks of it. Looks nice and shiny. Wave it around the room. Don't bother sharpening it, and don't try to cut anything with it.

200 bucks is pretty expensive for a display item in my opinion.

Probably best not to wave it around the room.

Before the UK ban on curved blades over a certain length I was researching for a live carbon steel katana. There were links on message boards to videos of a blade flying off a handle!

"Wall hanger" is the best description. It's the safest thing to do with what sword aficionados call an 'SLO', or Sword-like object.

$200 sounds expensive.

Agreed. I thought twice about that thought, and pictured the same snapping blade.

Shown here at 1:40.

I should have been more responsible in my online posting.

So, don't swing it around the room, Doomtown. Just hang it on the wall. (Wear protective gloves and goggles [or a face shield] while hanging so you don't injure yourself with a hammer, nails, drill, screws, or the sword itself.) Once hung (perhaps behind shatter resistant safety glass), stand back, and look at it.

But it's not really a sword. Not even close, though it should be for 200 smackers.

It looks like the sword was released by The Noble Collection, who presumably got the license to do so from Lucasfilm. The sword is no longer seen on their site - http://www.noblecollection.com/ however it may be worth dropping them an email also to see if they can assist. (y)

:D i don't plan on waving it around any rooms, maybe practice my fencing technique but thats about it! ;) i just want it for a showpiece on my wall, ive got a cool display planned for it,i think a lot people didn't buy this because they saw it as a Mutt Williams replica sword, when he only uses it briefly, even Noble collection called it that

Noble's license expired in 2010.

I own all their pieces - it is one of the items I let the kids that visit hold. Their eyes go huge when I tell them they can hold a 'real' sword :) Parents love to take that moment as a photo op. :)
