Error in Last Crusade?

When I first read the title of the thread, I wanted to say "Yes, there are several." I refrained, however. Although, I guess I didn't, since I just said it now.
Ok, so they are spies who may or may not know which side Elsa and Indy are on, but I still find it odd that Kazim seems to stop caring about all that once his life is put in danger. If he was truly dedicated to saving the grail at all costs, he would have been killed with Indy and Elsa or have killed them both once they saved him.
But that wouldn't make for much of a movie.
