Well we all knew that a G.I. Joe movie was on the way but we had not anticipated a video game. EA has announced a video game to tie-in with the upcoming movie and past television series.

Nintendo has also revealed a tie-in video game to the Winter Olympics 2010 Vancouver. All of this is good news for those of us are big G.I. Joe fans. I had a small glimmer of hope for a Mario and Sonic Olympics sequel personally when I began to read the reviews and saw how many sales it has had. 594,157 copies of the Wii version has been sold.

Hit the jump below for more info.

Nintendo needs to stop using Mario in tired spin-offs, and focus on making a real Mario game; besides just one game per generation.

While everyone is entitled to their own opinion I must argue in defense of the so called "tired spin-offs". Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games is not a tired spin-off. The game was highly successful and is one of the best selling Wii titles along side LEGO Indiana Jones, Monopoly, Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Party 8 and of course Mario Kart.

I'm looking forward to this new Mario and Sonic reunion. I believe that this is a good way of bringing together two popular and well loved video game icons and ending the rivalry of the past between these two to an end. Even IGN, GameSpot, GameSpy and Joystiq.com have smiled upon the news of yet another highly anticipated Mario and Sonic at the Olympics title.

Even today Mario and Sonic at the Beijing Olympics is still selling millions of copies every hour according to various game news sites.

Besides with the hype following the upcoming Vancouver Winter Olympic Games there is little doubt that this new Mario, Sonic Winter Games title will sell even better than the first. This morning the Today Show began it's coverage of the 2010 Winter Games and it was awesome and I can only imagine the wonders this new Nintendo/SEGA title will bring with it. I'm sure it will be a hit on the new DSi and an even bigger hit on the Wii utilizing the Balance Board for Snowboarding.

So all in all this is no failure, instead it'll be another major success for Nintendo, SEGA, the Olympic Games and Mario and Sonic themselves.

I apologize.
I should not have stated my opinion as fact. I must say I liked Mario Kart for the Wii. But, I am just bitter because I love the platforming in regular Mario games, and wish I had another to play lol.

I understand Lonsome_Drifter. It would be nice if there were a game similar to Super Mario 64 or Super Mario Galaxy in which Mario and Sonic both star and must work together to accomplish a goal. I am sure SEGA and Nintendo are both working on that as well.

Here are a few links to a news articles regarding Mario and Sonic At The Winter Olympic Games and the Nintendo DSi.

What about the Werehog? Could you please explain a bit more? I'm sort of left hanging on your remark Agent Crab, you did not give me enough details.

Here are few links to the latest regarding the new G.I. Joe movement come this year.

So far there has been a new online animated series announced called G.I. Joe Resolute. I hope Cartoon Network will pick up G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero and G.I. Joe SIGMA 6 and begin airing those two programs in the month leading up to the release of the G.I. Joe movie.

SOnic is okay in my opinion and I played Unleashed. I just hope his Werehog form isn't included in the new game.

The GI Joe movie however looks like it will be great.

CN did air The orginal 80's GI Joe episodes a few years back by the way. It was on at night, though.

Yes, I think I understand better now. I don't like the whole Werehog concept myself now that I've investigated the Sonic Unleashed game. I would like to purchase Sonic Chronicle: The Dark Brotherhood however. I also would like to buy Mario Strikers Charged as well. I never really watched Cartoon Network at night so that is why I missed the G.I. Joe reruns.

I somewhat missed the re-runs myself as well. I do remembr wahcthing them when FOX aired them before I went to school eons ago. I still have some on VHS.

I will admit.

I use to like Sonic back in the 16-bit days. Where he would run from point A to point B, rescuing his furry pals from robots. I use to read the comics also. Now it's Sonic and his kabillion friends and a dramatic comic.

Sonic Rush games and the GBA Sonic Advanced series do bring some of the games roots back to where it was all at.

Sonic Chronicles is pretty fun, though.
