I'm not talking about the new Clone Wars show, bit-brain.

Sorry, I just had to comment on the use of "bit-brain." Out side of the movie Tron I never heard anyone use it before. I know there is a back and forth feud going on, but this was kind of funny.

Nothing will ever be as bad as this, no matter how much people dislike GL:

I've long heard of the infamous Christmas Special, but have never witnessed any of it until now. What - just what - in the name of Jesus High-Kicking Christ was that supposed to be???* Awful...

LMAO at the Ewoks/Holiday Special videos. I'd seen clips from the live action parts, but not the cartoon segment. Even though it's the best part of the special, the cheese there is extremely funny. I especially like the weird facial expressions of Han Solo. And the fact that Boba Fett slinks backwards like a pansy at the end.

I have to admit that I actually really liked the Ewok movie when I was a kid. That battle with the giant in the first one was particularly tense for my five-year-old self. I'd began to outgrow it by the time I saw the second one, but I still have fond memories.

Going back to the midichlorians thing...I don't see how it ruins the OT. Isn't it basically suggested that the force is biological in the original movies? I mean, Luke has the force because he inhereted it from his father. Same with Leia. If anybody can use the force, why does the fate of the galaxy rest with Luke? They could just find any old kid to learn how to be a jedi.

Now THAT I'd love to see. Nolan remakes Star Wars as a darker, realistic sci-fi epic instead of kiddie porn.

come on spalko,i agree with you on not liking clone wars,in fact im not even waisting my money on it like i did with indy iv,but nothing beats the original three that Lucas gave us,i dont know if you were insinuating that Nolan could make Star Wars better than Lucas had done in the 70' and 80's or not,so feel free to correct me

Yeah, it's scary bad huh! NOTHING will ever top it!

GL only allowed the network to make it due to its popularity but he didn't write it or anything. He was busy with the production of ESB.

Good point, I kid of drew a similar conclusion. If everyone had it then there's nothing special about anyone.

If Nolan had made Return of the Jedi he wouldn't have used Ewoks to overthrow the Empire.

He also never would have had a muppet as a jedi master Yoda. It would have been Robin Williams with a gruesome make-up job.

Quit acting like a child. Now you're saying what Nolan or other filmmakers "would" or "would not" have done?!?!? As if you know.

How about the awkward stare he gives Chewies wife, like he wants to bone her! "You're like family....and I like my women hairy!"

That Holiday Special was awful. Even Lucas wants to forget about it. Who could not like Bea Arthur's singing performance in the cantina? Shame Blance, Rose and Sophia were not around to pole dance with a couple of Hammerhead men in the background.

The Ewok movies were terrible.

Now, as for ROTJ - I don't mind the Ewoks in that as such. I am guessing what they were getting at with them was that the more purist simple species and strength could outdo complex evil. Still, I do think the latter portion could have been done somewhat different. But I did like the forest theme. I think the strongest part of ROTJ is the Jabba section at the start - and also the end battles at the end are brilliant - especially Luke and Vader when the ominous Williams score comes on. Much better than Obi Wan and Anakin's cartoony computer game-styled floting platform over lava battle.

You're correct about the purpose of the Ewoks. His original idea was for Ewoks to be Wookies (Ewok is short for Wookie), but then he didn't want the giant Wookies to fight the Empire for some reason. I think he wanted a primative society and since Chewbacca had been shown to be a pilot and stuff he went with Ewoks.

The actual original story for SW was better. If he could have made one 3 1/2 hour movie it'd have been awesome. Cloud City was supposed to be the prision where Leia was held (not the Death Star). There was only also one Death Star. The idea was that the droids escape to Tatooine from the Star Destroyer and then get to Luke, Luke meets Obi-Wan and finds out about Anakin and Vader, Owen and Beru are killed, then they hook up with Han in Mos Eisley to go help Leia, they get captured in the Death Star and find out about Leia being held prisoner but was sent to Bespin, Obi-Wan is killed and they escapre the DS, then they go to Cloud City and rescue Leia, Luke meets Vader and finds out "I am your Father!", then they get away and meet up with rebels who are hiding on a planet with Wookies and then the final Death Star assault from ANH would take place simultaneously with the Wookie battle below like ROTJ. Obviously for time and budget reasons that was impossible.

Oh I'm quite serious. There's no way Nolan would have kiddie porn in his films. :p

I bet that's a smelly bush! :( Bad mental image!

Did you love the little "porno" hologram that Chewie's dad got? "We can have fun, can't we?" How friggin creepy was that for a Holiday Special? In the 70's no less!!!

That show acheives greatness due to it's completely epic crappiness.

I'm getting it now. TCW only suffers if you hold it up to the epic proportions of the saga. But after seeing it a second time this afternoon, i can say it's great without reservation... if you're a FAN. I think there are lot of former and ex-fans who will continue to trash it.

TCW isn't on the same epic level that we're used to for the theatrical releases. It's more focused on the smaller bits. How do they get from here to there. To wit: whereas the sandstorm was cut out of ROTJ, in the scope of something like Clone Wars it would be an entire episode. It's a way to highlight more action for sure, but also allows us to delve more into the characterization. It's really working for me now on all levels, and i can't wait for the show!

I, too, can't wait for the series. Thought Clone Wars looked great and I enjoy the idea of seeing Anakin as a hero. I like the old-fashioned, serial-inspired tone of Clone Wars.

Lucas has said Clone Wars should be viewed "as a footnote to the Star Wars saga." It's not the 7th film.

Would someone explain who the hell this General Lameass guy with the bad Scottish accent is? More racial stereotyping from Lucass and Co. not to mention the flamboyant fop Ziro the Hutt. And what's up with this tween Pocahantas Padawan bimbo carrying Stinky the Hutt around in her backpack like Kuato? Holy Christ... this is... this is BEYOND atrocious. It makes Attack of the Clones look like Apocalypse Now. The horror... The horror...
I didn't think Star Wars could defile itself any worse than the Holiday Special or the Ewok Adventures but Clone Wars takes the saga to a new all-time low. When do Spongebob and Barney show up?
