Hopefully you can see what I'm getting at. I think a single, short clip of something done with CGI could be designated as 30 different shots, combined, or something like that.

I think you're probably right there. Also, I guess they're counting matte paintings (the backgrounds), which are done digitally now. All the previous films used those heavily ? but in the eighties of course, they were really painted by hand.

Surely most, if not all, of the CGI in KotCS will go unnoticed by the majority of audiences.

The issue is not the legality. I've no problem whatsoever posting an article. I do in fact condone it. The issue is in semantics. Don't claim that something has been approved by the publisher if it has in fact not been.
