what if Flanery was available and Lucas got him in for a Younger Indy movie? Obviously, he can't play teen Indy, but maybe a movie set in the late 20s/early 30s.

Or failing that, bring back some other characters. Adult shorty, sallah or even maybe Willie and Marion meeting

Flanery is 44 now, so he'd be the right age for a 1940s film noir style Indy.

I say start a whole new television series with Indy in world war II fighting the japanese and nazi's again plus bring back flannery to play the part. Let the 6th film open in mongolia, 1961 and the 5th the opening adventures tags right into the rest of the film like in temple of doom:whip: and if no to the tv seires then reboot the series with a whole new director, producer, and distribution company:gun:

I'd say this is putting things into perspective

Harrison Ford says ?If we find a script and develop a story in less than the 18 years it took to make the last one, if I?m still alive, I?ll make myself available,? he said.

I don't like Ford's quote as he infers Lucas/Spielberg are not pushing this thing forward's as quickly as HF would like. I get the impression that Ford is really keen but George & Steven are not bothered either way so neither devote much time to the concept/story & we all know Lucas works slowly on this & usually on 1 project at a time so if he is still busy in the editing room with red tails no Indy5 progress will be made until much later this year.

Harrison does have a very dry sense of humour. Sometimes in interviews he's so dry and emotionless that you wonder if he isn't already desiccated, and ready to play 'Indiana Jones the Mummy'. I think this is all a game of hint-dropping and teasing.

...and effective marketing for his current project, something he's heavily invested in.

Every interview a celebrity gives nowadays is plugging something or other. I remember in the good old days when celebrities would come onto a talk show just because people wanted to hear their stories and anecdotes. Now you ask yourself, what are they selling this time?

Still wondering whether Karen Allen's note about filming Indy V is just another tease.

Not sure you get my point, but I mean to say they have been using the idea of Indy V to get press for other projects.

Transformers, Extraordinary Members, (sorry that's the porn version)...

I got half your point, Rocket. Now I see what you were getting at - not only are the celebrities always selling something in interviews, but they're using the big news of the possibility of Indy V to sell what is likely to be lesser projects (lesser as far as Indy fans are concerned, that is).

After being snowed in for a couple of days, I decided to watch the Back to the Future movies, which of course lead to a google search about BTTF IV...

What does this have to do with anything? Well, I found some old BTTF archives that mentioned Indy.

Posted May 12, 1999:

Just got this reply from the Editor of Total Film magazine in response to our request for more information on their printed rumor: [information provided by 'Emma Cochrane']

"This rumour comes from our script doctors; these are two people based in the UK who regularly read all the scripts doing the rounds and write reports on how they can be improved. (For instance, they've recently read 3 different versions of the next Indiana Jones sequel ? one which is a prequel and one which involves aliens)

Hmmm...They were obviously right about a sequel involving aliens. But a PREQUEL script?

Moedred, got anything about a prequel?

The quote came from here:

Some joker typed 1995 on Monkey King. I'm guessing they read that, Saucer Men by Stuart, and Sons of Darkness, and they obviously weren't circulated officially. Great source!

Harrison is close friends with both Lucas and Spielberg. If he had anything on his mind with relation to Indiana Jones, he would simply pick up the phone and call them.

We will see Indy 5 when we get a new Michael Jackosn album
You're finally coming to your senses, Nurhachi.:p Please tell me that you purposely write "Jacko"sn and that it isn't just a typo...Michael Jackson is dead:dead: but don't worry...you'll probably get MORE than 1 *new* album filled with unreleased songs, demos, extended versions, alternate takes, & whatnot. Ju$t wait becau$e it will come $oon enough...

If Indy V was nothing but a mish-mash of deleted scenes, alternate takes & bloopers, I would not only buy it but would EAT it, too. I'M FOAMING AT THE MOUTH FOR MORE INDY ON FILM!
