That could be the proof that that last quote was true in which he said "they are script writing right now" as well. And in which he said the story sounds cool.:)

You mean this quote from Shia: "I got called into Steven's office and he pitched a little bit to me and it sounds crazy, it sounds really cool."

Actually it doesn't sound like proof at all, cause if that quote was true, then at least he would know if he's in or not.

On the contrary to popular belief not everyone is lying. Perhaps Shia is telling the truth and simply choosing not to talk about whether he’s in Indy V or not out of common courtesy (Oh please). Or, here’s a wacky thought, it was just a story pitch. A synopsis. Since the script is a work-in-process nothing has been confirmed as of yet. Maybe they don’t fully know who will feature in the story so far (Besides Indy). But the fact that Spielberg pitched the concepts to LaBeouf is a pretty good indicator that he may be planning Mutts involvement. :hat:

Listen to my indycast interview with Lucasfilm author JW Rinzler. At 20 minutes in when I ask about indy 5. He replies there is no Indy 5. My heart sank. So who knows. We were on the phone with a lucasfilm
Pr person and all my indy 5 related questions were taken out but I slipped one in anyway.

Not yet!;)

No one said there will definitely be another movie, and it's not in pre-production yet. So he's right, there is no "Indy 5". But fact is that they want to make another one, and so far no one said they have quit. We'll see if Leno will ask Ford tomorrow.

First: Thanks for letting us know! (though I can't hear your question about Indy 5  ??)

But the fact that all your Indy 5 questions were taken out must mean something :) ;) Don't u think?

Get FRANK DARABONT to write Indy 5 and USE IT THIS TIME! I asked him about TV versus Films - during a talk about his new AMC show the Walking Dead.. and tried to find out if those unfilmed Season 3 scripts were ever finished and if we would ever see them on the net... this and more will ne on the New York Comic Con edition of the IndyCast!

I don't know why your heart sank... for all intents and purposes there is no Indy 5 and there hasn't been.
They're just tossing around ideas at this point, they probably don't even have anything on paper. I don't know why some of us are so surprised, there is no conspiracy or cover up, they're not secretly filming Indy 5. We've known this.
And I hate to say this but Indy 5 probably won't happen at all...
...at least an Indy 5 with Harrison as Indy and Spielberg directing.

At this moment there is as much reason to believe Indy 5 is coming as there's reason to believe it isn't. I don't know why some people are so heavy on the "there is or never has been an Indy 5", obviously you don't like to speculate and ponder about this. I love Indy and I love to dream about what may be. And even if in the end it turns out Indy 5 is a no go, it still brought me a lot of joy to have speculated about it for a while. So if you believe it will never happen, please be so kind to stop spreading your negativity, it doesn't add anything to the conversation because it isn't fact. Just as the idea that Indy 5 is in the works isn't fact but at least that notion doesn't bring this thread to a halt.

Ford, and Karen allen are clamming up, and Shia has already stuck his neck out too far in his comments about the progress of Indy 5 to be able to take any of his current dummying up seriously. Everybody involved has said that they want to do it, none have said otherwise. Why should I care or believe what Rinzler says on the subject? It fits perfectly with the conspiracy theory that I believe in which no one involved is allowed to say anything until an official announcement is made. I won't be surprised at all tomorrow night if there is no Indy 5 news from Harrison's appearance on Leno. Won't mean a thing. If you put all the quotes together, and see how in the last month or two everyone is acting like they suddenly don't know anything, it would seem that the opposite is true. Indy 5 is on it's way. Call me a hopeless case, delusional, seeing what I want to see, whatever. I think that JW Rinzler's piece of free information is worth about as much as I paid for it. :hat:

If this is directed at me than I have a few things to say "EdddyW"
...and even if it isn't, this needs to be heard.
I love Indiana Jones like so many others out here... it's just that since I happen to be on the bottom part of the ladder of the film industry I know how things work. Hell, half of us out there know how it works. Even if you don't know jack-**** about film. There is a process.

Indiana Jones in any sense interests me. I would "like" to see a fifth film made...

I am just trying to sort out the non-sense from "known facts"... I love speculation.... especially about Indiana Jones, but speculation that is grounded. The best times I ever had on this board where when we knew that Indiana Jones 4 was filming... getting spy reports from the set, pictures, video... speculating.
I guarantee you that at least 1/4 of the Indy 5 rumors that are spread around to the rest of the world are spread by US. I'm just trying to make sure we don't get mislead from within...

It's not about negativity, its about trying to get the facts straight for others here. And don't you ever say I have no right to post here... even if the posts seem to be what you would consider "negative"... because its my goddamned right as an Indiana Jones fan and a Ravener. And I don't see my posts as "negative", I just try and clear up the facts for everyone else who cares about the actual progress of a possible Indy 5.

P.S. Maybe we should have that moedred Indy 5 progress list as a sticky like Indy's Brother suggested.

Make sure you all catch Harrison Ford on the Tonight Show this Wednesday, October 13 at 10:30 Eastern time. I guess he's there to promote his next film "Morning Glory" even though it doesn't come out for another month. Hopefully he mentions Indy 5.

I'm kicking myself for not suggesting script questions for Rinzler and Darabont. These guys are among the few who've read everything. Don't worry about Rinzler's Indy 5 comment, I think he means Lucas is like Howard Hughes with Red Tails right now. Any day he's going to wake up and want to reshoot it in 3D.

I didn't say recently. I just meant his appearences at Leno, Conan or Letterman were always very amusing. Sometimes I wonder if he takes a drink before these shows. :) For example in 2008, promoting "Indy 4", saying how bad the movie is and that we shouldn't watch it - and in the next moment how he loves it. (y)

You can find them here, watch them, they're great! http://tu.tv/videos/tonight-show-with-jay-leno

10:07 about "Crystal Skull":
- "No clips, no nothing, what's up? Does it suck?"
- "Yes!" :)

You said he would be on 'Wednesday' implying this week. But now I know what you meant, Oct. 13.

Of course he said there's no Indy 5, because there isn't. How is that surprising news? Did he say there won't be an Indy 5? Cause that's totally different.

Dr Gonzo, if you read my post better you'd see the nuance. I never said you don't have the RIGHT to post so please don't go all "it's my goddamned right" on me. I work in film too, so that makes two of us, but that doesn't make us any more informed then people who don't, unless you're Steven Spielberg. Saying "there is no Indy 5 and there hasn't been" is based on what? It's the same as saying Indy 5 will be for sure. At this time believing in Indy 5 is like believing in Santa Claus, with the big difference being Indy 5 has more chance of becoming reality. I prefer to keep believing in it for as long as possible instead of being that one kid who tries to ruin it for the rest by bursting the bubble. Everybody here realizes that it's a possibilty Indy 5 never get's made, so there is no use to keep pointing that out. Still, once I hear from an official source that it won't happen, I'm sure my heart would sink too. That would be a normal reaction for anyone on this board, so no need to "straighten out the facts" with stuff that isn't fact either. Look, I don't mean to attack you or anything, but to me there is just a big difference between saying "it's fun and all but keep in mind you might get disappointed" and "I'm surprised you ever believed there was an Indy 5, because there was never any reason to". Anyway, like I said no hostile intentions here so keep it cool.

Well nothing except the fact that no screenwriter has been hired to pen anything, and the idea is still just being "tossed around".

(On a side note a Godfather remake is in the works.
It has been suggested...
Well people are talking about it... so it must be happening right? It's a sure thing!)

Which version of cool?
? showing no friendliness toward a person or enthusiasm
or
? free from excitement or anxiety.

Check on both accounts.

Kidding man, I'm cool.

No need to reply, because I won't be, unless something definitive happens. Here's to Indy 5
(sips Wild Turkey)
Excelsior!
Good night.

Moedred can we get your official Indiana Jones 5 progress list as a sticky?
