Will the opening title font--

be like Raiders? (Just titled "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull")

Temple of Doom? (Fedora Font)
<a href="http://s222.photobucket.com/albums/dd19/indy4fan/?action=view&current=Picture2-1.png" target="_blank"><img src="http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd19/indy4fan/Picture2-1.png" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Or Last Crusade (Fully titled: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull)
<a href="http://s222.photobucket.com/albums/dd19/indy4fan/?action=view&current=Picture3.png" target="_blank"><img src="http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd19/indy4fan/Picture3.png" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Choose wisely...

I can't think of another setting where the big fedora font (or logo) in TOD could be used besides a huge dance number without looking silly. I honestly think it's going to be full titled "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull."

And I think it's going to have the "Indiana Jones" part appear first... wait one second or so and then "And the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull."

Its one of the things I'm actually most curious about. If they do the same font as Raiders and Last Crusade, it'll make Temple of Doom's different font stick out like a sore thumb and make it feel like the black sheep of the family.....it didn't before because Last Crusade was so similar to Raiders it was fitting that they had the same font.

I'm guessing it'll be like the TOD version only with the standard Indy font:

Movie Title Font

They should just use the same font from Raiders. Here is a font which is called Safari. It is a single user liscence. It is a really great version of the Indie title font; the lettering is very accurate. Here is the link

You can view a sample of the bold, regular, and shadowed letters. Its really great! (y)

Maybe it'll be in the Mars Attacks font and smear all over the screen! Haha. Like the 50s movies, right?

Ugh

I think the ToD one should be used. It's the most recognizable to casual Indy fans (it's on the posters, toys, and VHS/DVD cover art afterall) and will allow ToD not to stick out like a sore thumb as oki pointed out.

Gotta be the TOD format. The fonts from Raiders and Last Crusade are intimidating the TOD font already, if KOTCS has Raiders font then I'm calling the police and reporting font intimidation.

I'd love something sober like the last crusade title. Anyway I think it won't bother me seeing the classic Indy-logo fonts. I just think it's more elegant the Last Crusade style.

I must say, I think this looks pretty good. However, is it too serious for a film involving Russian spies, alien skulls and a guy dressed like a hermit?

I think they should make it the way they did with Raiders and LastCrusade. Using the Indy-Font in Temple was good, but only because it fit in the scene. If they had use the Indy-Font at the beginning of LastCrusade it would have looked ridiculous in my opinion..

Because if it was in front it would block her. I think you can see enough of it to figure out what the title is! It's better in widescreen. For years when I saw it on VHS in standard format, the title would be compacted to fit the TV screen and be smooshed together! It didn't look great. When I saw it in letterbox and in the correct size for 2.39:1 ratio, I was like "Oh wow! That's much better!"

As to what kind of font to use for KOCS, it depends on the opening scene. Raiders and Last Crusade both opened with a quiet outdoor setting with less action so the more modest font worked. TOD opens with this big nightclub opening musical number so the big orange font worked best with it. If the first scene of KOCS instantly has action and excitement then it would be okay to use the big bold font.
