Pre-Mangold Previz for Indy5

Concept artist, Adam Brockbank, shares pre-Mangold previz for Indy5. This was to feature a plot in China with a young Indy. Seems to be David Koepp’s draft as it also had a nazi plunder train (the reason Koepp was credited for Dial of Destiny).

Wow that looks great. Interesting to see that Steven wanted to play with the young Indy idea going all the way back to when he was a kid.

The overall tone looks a bit more darker than skull, but knowing Steven now a days, he would’ve tried to balance the darkness with some upbeats.
Now I really want to see what Indy 5 directed by Steven was going to be like. At least this is the most we’ll get for now…

Wow, SOO glad the movie didn't include a child version of Indy. Yikes, bullet dodged.

That said, if it was going to deal with "modern" (1960s) Nazis, Buenos Aires feels like a great location and that image of the derelict German sub in the cavern looks amazing.
Buenos Aires would have been a cool location to visit, I would love to see the early drafts of the script. I would have to think that Buenos Aires was included because of the connection to Nazis after WWII, but I wonder what those protests in the concept art were about? Also curious where the sub base was supposed to be located. I agree about not wanting to see Indy as a child again played by another actor, we have already seen enough of that between the show and Last Crusade. I much preferred the opening we got of Indy in his prime during WWII, which we haven't seen before but was alluded to in Skull.

Looks incredible! I always wished we’d got more of Indy in the far east, but having him discover what looks like a Chinese emperors tomb before his 10th birthday might have been a bit of a stretch…

Also, while Buenos Aires would have been a logical location to bring back 60’s Nazis - and is certainly different to the S American locales used in Skull - I’m glad we got some North African & Mediterranean flavor instead.

I have heard that Steven wanted to focus on Indy & Marion’s relationship more in Indy 5 - with anything that that entails, it would’ve been cool.
I wish I could read his script.

It seems that they were thinking of showing in the prologue the Indy's FIRST adventure and later the LAST.
