i saw a guy who had em on ebay but that was over a month ago --- and they were pretty cheap price when i saw them --- the temple of doom hats came out in 1984-85 and were sold at bermans leather shops along with the indiana jones jacket --- my wife ( my girlfriend at the time ) bought me mine , it was a medium size , and as the years passed it has gotten to small for my head and i have passed it along to my son . who wears it pretty much every day ---

Does anyone know where you can find the fedora from Temple?

thanks,

If you mean the officially licensed version made by Stetson, Indyclone25 is correct. There were several different versions made of wool felt, fur felt and straw.

If you mean the hat used in the movie, that was a Herbert Johnson. It is very expensive for the quality of the hat you get. The Christys Adventurer from www.hornetshats.com is basically the same hat, just with a different label, and costs much less (about $100 + $20 postage in the U.S.A.).

This hat in the Light Sable color is the PERFECT TOD hat, in my opinion.

I have some photos that may be of help to you. Here are 2 pictures of a licensed Stetson Fur Felt Indiana Jones from 1984:

And here is a photo of a new Christys Adventurer, on the right, next to a vintage Herbert Johnson Indy:

I was wondering, how does the Peters Bros. custom Indy fedora hold up in your opinions as a ToD hat?

Peters Brothers makes excellent Indy hats, and they will style them any way you like. The only complaint I've heard about them is that the felt is stiff; but on the other hand, that will help the hat keep its original shape over time.

the ribbon seems way to light than black
The photo on the website is not that great, really. The hat looks much better in person. If you go to www.themovieshop.com and do a search for Christys, you will see some better photos of the Adventurer. There is also a wool felt version there.

The original Indy ribbon is not black but a very dark brown that can appear black in direct sunlight.

The hat in this poster and all the hats used in the first 3 films were Herbert Johnson Poets. Stetson may have had a couple of hats put in for product placement purposes.

The DP did not exist until after Last Crusade was released.

We all have our favorite hats, but let's try to keep the facts straight. ;)
