What would Indy drive? Circa 1950?

We've seen him drive Mercedes trucks and little Fiat roadsters...I'm thinking that during the 30's, being a single guy, if he owned a car at all he probably drove a dark colored American coupe, something appropriate for a college professor such as a Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, maybe a less expensive car such as a Dodge, Plymouth or a Ford.

In an early draught of "Crusade", Indy drove a Ford Coupe! (Marcus has a coupe in "Raiders" but I don't think it's a Ford.) In the final movie, Indy's car ending up being an early '30s Rolls-Royce! Check out this thread: What Kind Of Car Does Indy Drive???

Which brings me back to my old, lingering question (see: post #16). Whose car is in Indy's driveway in "Crystal Skull"? Dr. Jones' or The Dean's?

As for Indy not driving a truck in the '50s, here's an appropriate bit from the other thread:

He also drove, what is described as, an "olive-drab panel truck" in City of the Gods (the one that Yuri borrows and turns into a fake US military vehicle) which would have looked something like this but olive and in better condition. Several companies made them but I chose a Ford, of course.
