Is your Marion going to be the Well of Souls white dress Marion?

Actually, I had bumped "Well of Souls Marion" from my roster in anticipation of getting her in ROTLA Wave 2 - guess that isn't going to happen now. My Marion is "Washington DC" Marion - and as I'm not going to finish her in time for the GTG Customs Competition, I guess I can give you a sneak preview...

Darn photobucket is blocked at my work pc...I can see them fine when I get home. That blasted red X is the worst teaser ever.

Is that a Harry Potter character figure legs?

Nope. They are modded (I cut heels into the previously flat shoes) Elizabeth Swan "Singapore Disguise" legs.

Incidentally, painting stocking seams on a 1/18th scale figure is a pain in the a** !

Considering the composition of this figure, I don't think it would be difficult to make a good "Well of Souls" Marion using 90% of the recipe.

Haha, you WILL post that recipe then, right? ;)

I can only assume it will be the lovely Elsa Schneider. Can't wait to see the final piece.

I wish it was Venice Elsa! He already said it was Washington DC Marion, though. Not that that's really any less cool. :)

Really looking forward to that Marion.

I hope you'll make a white suit Belloq though, especially since the already produced headsculpt will make the custom much easier to make. If you will make him, please post a tutorial because I'd really love to own such a crucial character in figure form. (y)

I haven't been able to start it yet, but I think I've figured out a good White Suit Belloq recipe..

HEAD: Belloq, w/turbin removed, slightly modified fedora from Indy added (probably reduced the brim a little is my thinking)
TORSO: Indy w/machine gun
ARMS: Rebel Honour Guard
LEGS: Either Belloq or Indy, depending on how much you hate painting joints.
JACKET: Henry Jones

I also wrote to the MArauder site someone posted a link to a few pages ago about the possibility of them selling a casting of Henry's Jacket as well as Sirius Blacks' jacket, since I'm too broke to buy multiples of Henry and Sirius on the secondary market just for parts. I suppose we'll see!

Cool recipe. Why Rebel Honor Guard arms though? Why not use Henry's?

The cutting of the hat worries me though. I wouldn't want to mess it up. Also, if I'll make this custom, I'd want the hat to be removable. How would you go about sculpting Belloq's hair?

Will you be making this custom? If so, I'd really love to see it.

Inky_skin, do you have a recipe for this custom?

This is the recipe I'm using for mine, it is currently a work in progress. I'm using the arms from Henry, and the legs from Indy. As far as cutting off the turban, I just used an exacto knife and it worked just fine. Cutting down the brim is really not necessary, Indy's fedora looks just right on Belloq's head, since Belloq's face is a little bigger. I will post pics when it is finished.

I do have one general question for all customizers though: when re-attaching the arms and legs to the torso, it is necessary to boil the torso first? If so, what is the danger of removing the paint when dipping the figure in the water? I sprayed the whole thing with clear coat, but I'm still nervous about it.

I thought of the RHG's arms from looking at inky_skin's Donovan, which uses the RHG's entire body, almost. I just think they would look good. I wouldn't rule out using Henry's, altho mainly it was b/c I'm hoping Marauder's will start offering a casting of Henry's jacket, so I don't have to buy 3 more extra Henry's just for the jacket's and arms.

I'm not so concerned with the hat being removable, so I hadn't considered it. RPG Indy's removable hat just looks too big on him, so I wasn't terribly interested in using a removable hat, plus I'm not such a good sculptor, especially with the curly texture of Paul Freeman's hair. I was planniong on using the hat from the Rope Bridge Indy, since I'm planning on doing head swaps on those wonky headed figures. Cutting the fedora was really more just speculation than a necessity, I would evaluate it at the time I was doing the custom.

Will you be making this custom? If so, I'd really love to see it.

I hope to make it! Money's tight, & I get guilt-tripped when I make these so-called "me purchases," so it's slow going collecting fodder. Which makes me think, anyone got some parts they'd like to sell me?

I have yet to crack open an Indy figures, but I would imagine that the torsos & the hip/groin/crotch pieces are in 2 halves and can be glued together without having to "pop" the arms and legs in at all. When I was customizing Joes like crazy, I'd set the arms & head and o-ring in the "back" section of the torso and then attatch the "chest" half of the torso and screw it together. Of course, the Indys are assembled differently, but it shouldn't be too different from that, I wouldn't think.

Just wanted to tip the hat (so to speak) to all of you guys. I don't really have time or the skill to do these sorts of things but it's been fun going through this thread and seeing everyone's really cool efforts. Some of these are plainly superior to anything that could ever be made available commercially.

I am inspired to try a few out myself but if any of you get into mass production you need to let us know!

Man, this guy pjsnell over on the CTR forums made this brilliant Marcus Brody custom using the Sebastian Shaw/Anakin head!

If I can track down another one fo those figures for cheap, I may just give this a go myself.
