I say my favorite actor is Hugh Jackman, who is slightly less than 10 years older than me. However, I base that distinction on having seen his charisma and stage presence once on Broadway (note to self: DVR the Tonys). If I chose my favorite actor based on the same criteria by which I chose my favorite actress, the actress being Emma Thompson and the criteria being "I like almost everything I've seen her in," I don't think Hugh would be my favorite actor. I'm not an X-Men fan, I missed the six movies he was in in '06 or '07, and I refuse to see "Van Helsing." However, I own seven Harrison Ford movies on DVD and have three on DVR. I guess it would be him.

Edited to add: and yes, I also think Hugh Jackman looks good shirtless. That's one of the most important qualities in my favorite actor.

same here, all my favorite actors are older. i guess its because i like classic movies as compared to today.

all the older actors and actresses are cooler cause there more real! :p lol

not like i dislike the younger actors there just so dramatic now a days.(n)

(not all of them.) like Shia he's more real.maybe thats why he's my 2nd fav actor(y)

So many great moments in this movie. ("I know you, @sshole!" death by corn, shirtless Harrison, etc.) I love the dancing scene too. One of the few films that I dislike the melancholy ending. They should've ended up together!! They were perfect for one another. :(

I know what you mean! By the films end I was on the verge of yelling at my television telling them that they belong together.:(

Right-o, back to the subject at hand. If there's anyone here who still hasn't seen Witness, here is your reason to do so:

You're probably right. She seems to love it for its "OMG soooo random!!XD" factor. I guess it'll just have to stay our (and everyone who's seen the movie) lil secret. ;)

Hell, I did yell. A pillow was also thrown.

I think Hugh's hot but the only movies I've really seen him in are the first two X-Men. Very sexy as Wolverine.

This thread has made me realize that all the male celebrities I have major crushes on are old enough to be my father -- grandfather, in Ford's case. Robert Downey Jr., Daniel Craig, Hugh Laurie, Val Kilmer, Tim Matheson, Rob Lowe, John C. Mcginley, Greg Kinnear, and of course Harrison. I can't help it!

They just don't seem to make 'em like they used to. All "hot" male celebs of my generation are dull pretty faced boys. Blander than the average soap opera hunk. Shia's an exception -- he appears to have more personality than the others, though I don't find him that attractive.

I just think all the celebs I mentioned are looking better as they age. Hotter than ever, I say.

You know what's kinda cool? My mom used to love Harrison Ford in the 80s, and after she saw Raiders she was so enamored with him that when she had to have an appendectomy later that year her friend brought in a framed picture of Harrison and hung it on the wall opposite the bed so she could oggle at him as she recovered. Isn't that cute? Though I doubt that ever thought her son would feel the same way about him. :dead:

Byebye everyone. hm, I'm sick and tired of this childness around on members teasing each other constantly with pics that don't belong to here...when I try to ignore Agent Z and some other freak who posted a pic of a guy I don't even know who is it for us to drool over instead of Indy's and I see you girls take those freaks seriously...makes me realise I don't belong to this place nor this forum at all, not just that though but I feel disapointed about another matter, naive as I am, thinking that yes logical that none would like Indy without thinking of Harrison first...cause the man plays Indy through his skin. And seing all over again the old same pics repeated ones, and be PROUD and happy to keep ignoring Harrison Ford is beyond my understanding....so perdon I was really mistaken to think otherwise.
Enjoy it girls, live long with your dreams and happy drooling. Indy drooling.

And please don't go, fatima.:( If you do, you'll just be giving Agent Z and those other people who want to ruin our thread the feeling of victory of driving the people who like this thread out. Then we'll never hear the end of it.

Wow!

The word for the day kids is "context".

If you have been on the forum for the past few months, you would have seen that Indy_Chic posted a Ford picture over in the Spalko thread...as a good-natured take on the old "Girl trespassing in the boy's clubhouse" cliche. It was funny and I returned the favor likewise. We have each posted replies a couple of times...maybe a whopping four exchanges in general.

Seriously, it's all been in good fun. I don't think anyone is over here (or at the other threads) spamming hundreds of photos to be spiteful. The only non-Indy pics (and there have only been 3 or 4 total) posted here were to return a punchline started from this thread to begin with.

Again, if you have followed this thread and understand the context of the posts, then I really have no idea how anyone could feel sincerely slighted by any of this.

So, I will have to assume that said offended parties missed the previous posts and the context in which they came altogether.

I'm back, and I have to thank for the girls who have supported me to stay. If there is someone who isn't happy with me here, I'm sorry cause now it's too late I WON'T go no matter what comes, so stick with me for the best and for the worse! :whip:

I'm glad you are staying fatima! I was scrolling through the thread and was just taken back with all the negative vibes that should have never been.

Scanning through the thread, I don't see anyone who isn't happy that you are here. Not in the least. I can assure you that I am not in that party.

Besides, I'm too busy stockpiling Spalko photos to be messing with all of you over here. ;)

Oh wow, how did I miss this thread? I hope you don't mind if I join in on the fun.

In regards to Witness, that is definitely one of my favorite Harrison Ford films aside from Star Wars and Indy. Gotta love the barn scene! (y)

The more the merrier! :D And are you talking about the barn dancing scene or the barn raising scene? I love the former but usually fast forward through the latter when I rewatch it.

Also, I'd like to thank fatima for bringing about posting non-Indy Ford roles in this thread. Because really, there's a limited amount of IJ pictures to post and all the good ones already have been.

Anyway, time for things to get Frantic...!
frantic.jpg

Synopsis from Wikipedia:
Harrison Ford plays Dr. Richard Walker, a surgeon visiting Paris with his wife for a medical conference. At their hotel his wife is unable to open her suitcase and Walker tells her she has picked up the wrong one at the airport. While Walker is taking a shower his wife mysteriously disappears from their hotel room. Still jet-lagged, he searches for her in the hotel with the help of a polite but mostly indifferent staff, then wanders outside to look further on his own. A street person overhears him in a cafe and tells Walker he saw his wife being forced into a car. Walker is skeptical until he finds his wife's ID bracelet on the cobblestones. He contacts the US embassy and the Paris police but their responses are bureaucratic and there is little hope anyone will look for her. As Walker carries on the search himself (with input from a very sympathetic but wary desk clerk at the hotel) he stumbles onto a murder scene and then the streetwise young woman (Emmanuelle Seigner) who mistakenly picked up his wife's suitcase at the airport. This begins his frantic attempt, with the young woman's help, to learn what was in the switched suitcase and trade whatever it was for his wife's life.

It's an OK film. Kinda reminds me of a lesser Hitchcock movie. It's also one of the rare ones where we see a lot of Harrison naked. Maybe the most out of all his movies. Absolutely worth the rental if only for that.

(This one looks like it could be from an IJ movie to me.)

Oops, sorry. I was referring to the barn dancing scene. ;)

Funny you should post those Frantic images. I had one hosted on Photobucket a while back and they removed it because they thought it was revealing a bit too much. :p

Eep. I'm using photobucket too. I hope they don't get removed! I'm almost positive that they don't violate the TOS... they're no more revealing than a swimsuit or underwear shot, and they are most definitely NOT sexually explicit. (More's the pity...)

Edit: Swapped hosting site for the more risqué pics, just in case. Thanks for warning me about that.

Ah yes, I've seen that movie. Actually my favourite part in the film was when Harrison's character takes a shower at the start! and then he was walking around in a towel....*sigh* my gosh I was drooling everywhere!!!!

And yeah those were funny pictures of Harrison and that teddy bear! :p When I saw them the lines that he said before he gets punched in that scene, "yes, I'm an American and I am crazy!" came into my head. Lol!

Mine too!! I searched high and low for some, however none were to be found. Weird, right? That's like one of the best parts... the Internet has failed me.

Harrison's underrated as a comedic actor. I can't believe he's never hosted SNL before.

I still haven't been able to track down a copy of The Mosquito Coast, either. Working Girl is fun, although Ford doesn't have THE lead role, obviously. Like in Sabrina.

Blade Runner time now? I don't know if it's a favorite around here, but I've always liked it.

Wikipedia:
The film depicts a dystopian Los Angeles in November 2019 in which genetically manufactured beings called replicants ? visually indistinguishable from adult humans ? are used for dangerous and degrading work in Earth's "off-world colonies". Following a small replicant uprising, replicants become illegal on Earth and specialist police called "blade runners" are trained to hunt down and "retire" (kill) escaped replicants on Earth. The plot focuses on a brutal and cunning group of replicants hiding in Los Angeles and the semi-retired blade runner, Rick Deckard (Ford), who reluctantly agrees to take on one more assignment.

I think he looks really cute with the shorter hair.
