Roles in which the Actor Disappears

Air Force One I haven't seen. It's around here somewhere. I have an disgraceful number of DVD's I haven't seen. But in Dracula, Sid & Nancy, Hannibal, the guy just vanishes. Heck, he was part of the Batman & Harry Potter franchises at the same time, and he inhabits both of those characters...

Roles in which the Actor Disappears

Pretty much anything with Gary Oldman. Whatever role he's in, he's completely that character.

General Indy 5 Thread - rumors and possibilities

I like the idea of the now settled down Marion being generally fussy when her man set's out for an adventure. I would however, put Mutt back to school. He would make an appearance, yes, but not be part of the main adventure. If there is an Indy V, it wouldn't surprise me if they reverse the...

Does anyone else keep finding themselves watching the originals?

Happens to me a lot too. Just a quick check, normally to hear a line or something, and I end up sitting through the whole film. That's quite a rare thing to happen to me... I think it only happens with Indy.

Misconceptions you had when you first watched the movies

For a long time, I thought that Temple was made before Raiders, as well as being set before it. This is when I first got the films on video, I was very young and didn't understand the concept of prequels. I didn't find out it was made afterwards until the VHS releases that came with Young Indy...

    Iron Man

Comparing the cast, The Dark Knight has just as much going for it, if not more, than Iron Man. Christian Bale (prior to Batman, a highly respected underground actor) Michael Caine (a living legend) Morgan Freeman (see above) Gary Oldman (A well respected actor, generally thought to be one of...

Does anyone else keep finding themselves watching the originals?

I keep watching The Last Crusade. The reason is I'm always in the mood to watch Indy, but there's other things I want to do at the same time. Were I to watch Raiders, I would end up paying attention it it and nothing would get done.

    What languages do you speak?

Aside from native English, I speak French. Not amazingly. There's also very limited German, and a teensy bit of Polish (enough to get by, as it were)

    Summer Movie Showdown

I do read DC. The thing is, Superman can be beaten by kryptonite (or depending on the writer/superman of the time, a good old fashioned bit of serious hardware). Darkseid is a planner, a schemer and strategist. Despite his Super-Human strength, he's not much of a fighter. Hulk's strength is...

Devil May Care - The new James Bond Novel

I haven't enjoyed this novel so far. I agree agentsands77, Colonel Sun is by far the best continuation novel. I think Gardner started out on the right path, although the problem was with the changing timeline, and Benson, IMO never approached Fleming in the slightest.

    Summer Movie Showdown

The Hulk is far, far stronger than Bane. Plus, Bane has always been beaten by Batman somehow removing the Venom that makes him such a strong guy. And let's not forget, Bane is the man who broke the bat. Even with Venom, he comes nowhere near Hulk levels, who throws tanks around like they're...

"Sex" too hot for Indiana Jones at box office

I agree, word of mouth was a massive factor in Iron Man's success. Non comic book fans were swarming to it. Speaking to a random dude on the train, who had no interest in comics who had been told by his friend how good it was, and had by the point of speaking to me, seen it five times. And...

    Wow I think I'm ******* retarded

I failed math at High School. The difference is here we don't graduate. One day we just stop going. Then a couple of months later we get grades through the door. Math is complicated, useless stuff. I can understand times tables, adding, subtracting, multiplying etc. But even simpler stuff is...
