"Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?" - Luke 6:41

More Christians need to be asked this question.

That's the truth people really need to read that verse. You people need to listen to him.

Don't get off topic PEOPLE!

John Chapter 6
54
Whoever eats 19 my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day.
58
This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever."
Mathew Chapter 16
18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."

Luke 18:25

"For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

Luke 18:25

James 2:14-20 said:
What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

A bit more than a verse, but it doesn't get much more fundamental than this, I'd argue.

Now how 'bout a Royale with Cheese? :gun:

Got to give the Quaran it's due...

"And fight in the way of Allah with those who fight with you, and do not exceed the limits, surely Allah does not love those who exceed the limits," reads Chapter 2 (The Cow), verse 193.

Three verses later, the Koran explains what those limits are: "And fight with them until there is no persecution, and religion should be only for Allah, but if they desist, then there should be no hostility except against the oppressors."

John 12: 35-36

Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the Light with you. Walk while ye have the Light, lest Darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in Darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.

While ye have Light, believe in the Light, that ye may be Children of Light.

That scripture is so full of truth and yet so spiritually uplifting and in a C.S. Lewis way kind of magical. Christ was speaking of the unseen battle between Light and Darkness, between he (Chirst) and Satan.

I know it technically doesn't count as a verse but I've been reading through the book of Proverbs again and I'd forgotten just how great it is. There's so much wisdom and insight in there that I try to use on a daily basis.

Psalms 24:7-10 KJV

I love this Psalm

7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.

9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

I'll excuse the fact that you called me Agent Crab, but, seriously, man, don't edit the man's quotation like that. He said,
Mohandas Gandhi said:
"I like your Christ; I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."
Big difference between what he said and what you said he said.

Jesus said: "Those who seek should not stop seeking until they find. When they find they will be disturbed. When they are disturbed they will marvel, and will reign over all."

Also: "The person is like a wise fisherman who cast his net into the sea and drew it up from the sea full of little fish. Among them the wise fisherman discovered a fine large fish. He threw all the little fish back into the sea and easily chose the large fish. Anyone here with two good ears had better listen!"

I'm sorry for calling you AgentCrab. It's was a blunder on my part. You and AgentCrab have the same icon and well that threw me for a spin. Again I'm sorry about that.

It's cool; I really don't care about that. I cared more that you changed the meaning of what Gandhi said.

Ah The Holy Bible, full of violence, porn, greed, a great read for kids.

Reminds me of this indi-short where they kept a running total of the abhorent content in the Bible...man I wish I had the totals now!

Infancide, patricide, deus-cide (is that even a word?), guess you got to point out all the nasty stuff God doesn't want his creation dabbling,(or bathing)in.
